OJSlaughter
This is awesome! Great update, will be playing Xenonauts again now
SmilePic
Played new build today. Some thoughts. Maybe should put it into another thread. 1. Hunter lost 2/3 health after getting occasional sniper rifle shot. Hm... 2. Hard to tell whether I am selecting soldier or ordering soldier to move to the spot near the soldier I want to select. Especially in dropship. 3. Spent 30 seconds looking for alien hunter spotted in dark place. Maybe visible alien should be hinted with something? mrsisk
3. Spent 30 seconds looking for alien hunter spotted in dark place. Maybe visible alien should be hinted with something? Can't you just click on the alien head icon to center the screen on the spotted alien?
Chris
Kickstarter - having just seen DoubleFine put theirs up and end up with enough money to make King Midas blush (see here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/66710809/double-fine-adventure?ref=spotlight) I'm chatting to one of our US artists to see if we can use his bank accounts and get this done sooner rather than later... Nibbler
Chris, I can't seem to find the v9 version of the alpha on Desura, am I missing something? I only have the v8.9 available for download.
Gorlom
is it the version that doesnt need desura installed or is it the desura autoupdater? The version that updates through the desura client updates faster then the other stand alone version.
Nibbler
Oh I see. I didn't know there was a Desura client, lol. I only ever went to the website to download Xenonauts.
Seiseki
I really like the new chinook, that's high quality work! But would it be possible to keep the old one as an earlier model which you can upgrade to a faster one? ;D It's quite nostalgic and it seems like a waste to throw it away, haha. windex
It looks nice. I did have a lock up on my second battle though. It was during Ground combat and the alien must have spotted me and was reacting. I could move the cursor around but the map and the UI were froze. I had to restart my computer. Xitax
Same as windex, hang on reaction fire. I never saw any of the dark green muscular aliens move; hang when one of those kind (name?) got a reaction fire event.

Xitax
Hmm, a couple more battles and all I see are unmoving sebilians. No civilians, no allies.
SmilePic
Can't you just click on the alien head icon to center the screen on the spotted alien? Didn't really help. Camera swithched to his aproximate location THEN I spent 30 seconds mentioned before.

poulwrist
Nice update hope you guys get the funding thing sorted (still insane that Schafer got in 1.25 million $ in under 3 days). Maybe register Goldhawk as a company in the states as well, so you don't get into any issues with your artist? Also, can't wait to see the UFO crash sites I remember how in old X-Com you'd wander around the map going "hmm where is it", then you found a big hole in a building wall and go "hmmm" and then follow the trail of destruction through the area till you foudn the UFO. Now that was great Edited February 10, 2012 by poulwrist
GrandC
This looks very nice, I have considered pre-ordering before but had doubts. The new chinook pics made it clear that your have the talent and inspiration to make this game a true gem. Thank you for your efforts and keep up the good work! Chris
There should at least be civilians in the battles. The NPC allies haven't been added yet but are slated for the near future. The AI is the biggest concern right now though...
Hamstervile
The maps look awesome. The music score of the game is getting really good, gives me the creeps whilst playing. Keep up the good work.
Tom O'Bedlam
The game has now become unplayable for me, the characters won't move after I've sighted an alien. I'll recheck tomorrow but if this is still the case should I email a save game?
Gorlom
The game has now become unplayable for me' date=' the characters won't move after I've sighted an alien. I'll recheck tomorrow but if this is still the case should I email a save game?[/quote']Go to the bugg section of the forum. make a thread with a topic along the lines of the rest of the threads in there (version number, part of the game the bug is in and short description). Make the savefile into a zip file or rename your savefile to another extention (like .txt or something as .sav files aren't compatible with the forums attachment functions) . Click "go advanced" instead of "post quick reply" or "cancel". Scroll down to Attachments under additional options and click the manage attachements button. Then follow the instructions. That way you dont have to email the savefile to anyone and the gametesters can access the savefile through the forum. cyllan
Cyllan, this article should explain the terrain generation system - it's semi-randomly generated: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/09/12/xenonauts-dev-diary-2/ thanks Chris...... semi random more than enough thanks
Amiga4ever
I'm impressed ) V 9.0 working much better than last build. I played 3 Ground Battles without any crashes. Only Air Combat caused CTD few times. Really good JOB Chris and team
jimbobfury
Amiga4ever - Did the alien's move at all during your ground battles? Did they react and fire on your troops?
