ivra
I met a hero today. My team was clearing out the area around a landed UFO when we heard several shotgun shots. As we closed in on the sound it happened again. Several more shotgun shots were fired. Finally, we arrived and what we saw was incredible. On the ground were two reaper corpses. A short distance from them was a crouched sebillian soldier trembling with fear. In the middle of the scene was a farmer with at shotgun. He had singlehanded taken out the two reapers while keeping the sebillian in check.
Sapare
I would wish to tell you this was magically impressive, but I actually pointed this out a few days ago, seemingly only now people are picking up on it, the Reaper AI is being derp face when it comes to civ units. As for the Sebillian, no idea how he suppressed that guy with a shotgun, but damn.
kabill
Shotguns have a pretty high suppression value, and you can shoot three times in a turn. Not impossible by any means. Also, that guy is amazing. You should recruit him.

StellarRat
It's possible the Reapers didn't see him and he got off the first shots for "free". The hay bales could have blocked the sight of one or two of the aliens. We all know shotguns are deadly at close range. Either way, impressive. Prudent Viper
Since when do Reapers appear on UFO crash site missions? I thought they were Terror only.
Sarlix
Also, that guy is amazing. You should recruit him. You can do that? or you were just poking fun ?
Kordanor
Had them in Defense missions, in Alien bases and on UFO Crash site missions. Luckily they always were either chasing me or ran around in the open. They never hid in the Ufo or in a Alien-Base Room.
kabill
You can do that? or you were just poking fun ? No, sadly, you can't. Although I'm suddenly taken by the idea of you being able to hire civilians you encounter in ground missions Men In Black style. It might give you an incentive to try and save them, then! Jean-Luc
Since when do Reapers appear on UFO crash site missions? I thought they were Terror only. It's possible that it's the terror ship itself that's crashed I think.
Larus
Iirc are Reapers now even on board of normal scouts. Makes fighting Sebillian in cities more exciting, they snowball pretty quickly from time to time
Chefsbrian
Yea, I was very shocked when I pulled my first reaper in a ship. Luckily a rifle reaction fire picked it off before it ambushed my troops. I move a fair bit more carefully now, and refuse to take night missions whenever possible.
Catfur
I was playing today when a farmer took out two Reaper Alphas (best guess is a Reaper Alpha and a buddy of his that went zombie). The Reapers took a terrible toll on the civvies that day.

My exact words when I saw the Reaper rushing into my line of soldiers for the first time. It stopped 2 squares away though.
Dirk Ralthar
First time I saw one, I was having X-COM: UFO Defense Crysalids Flashbacks. First thing that went through my mind was, "It's gonna zombifie my dude!" And then the dude was, predictably, Zombified.
MrPyro
On v1.04 I've just had my first Reapers on a Corvette. Possible it was lining up for a Terror mission before I shot it down, but it might just be standard now…
Max_Caine
Corvettes en route to a Terror mission will have Reapers. If you find a Reaper in a Corvette, it means you've saved a city before they could even get there.

Especially if the civilians were like the MERC discount mercenaries from Jagged Alliance 2, basically incompetent.

I actually looks like all Seb ships Corvette or larger have at least one Reaper in their crews, except for Landing Ships which only have them on certain missions.
