BlueTrin
One of my soldier bled to death and I could not heal her using a medpack. I understand that soldiers cannot seem to heal themselves but no matter how much the other was healing her, she would still bleed.
Max_Caine
Hi BlueTrin. That's a bug. A similar one was reported here. Were I you, I would go report the bug on the bug forum.
BlueTrin
Hey Max, it was my first time playing, so I wanted to make sure it was a bug before to report it. I will report this bug tonight. Thanks for the reply !
Chris
Yeah at the moment I think there's an issue where using a medipack actually injures the soldier it's meant to be healing, which is a bit unfortunate if someone suffers a bleeding wound... kigurai
Yeah at the moment I think there's an issue where using a medipack actually injures the soldier it's meant to be healing, which is a bit unfortunate if someone suffers a bleeding wound... It is also a little bit hillarious
Khall
I get around it by equipping everyone with stun batons (unlocked after alien biology) instead of medkits. If anyone get bleeding wounds, a couple of hits with the "anaesthetic" will sort them out (stunned soldiers don't continue to bleed). Crude but effective. StellarRat
I was going to suggest that their medical training might include leeches and bleeding, but that stun baton thing is pretty funny...LOL!
Simmo753
and here was me just trying to finish the mission quicker lol stun batons it is then
Gauddlike
Yeah just cauterise their wounds with electric current. Makes perfect sense to me.

LOL this was what happened yesterday. *Soldier got hurt and is bleeding for 2HPs* Me: Um what should I do ? Should I use this large medipack in her inventory Ah she cannot heal herself, I will bring a soldier next to her next round *Soldier is bleeding for 4HPs* Oh I got this ... wtf it looked like he hit her instead of healing her ... They must have recycled the animation from the grenades *Soldier is bleeding for 10HPs* Maybe I should try to use more APs *Soldier is bleeding for 14HPs* Let's use all the APs *Soldier is bleeding for 24HPs and is dead* *cries* NOOOO ! I didn't have any stun batons ! lmao Edited September 11, 2012 by BlueTrin
Gauddlike
Memo to all Xenonauts quartermasters: Effective immediately all scalpels, scissors, and paper with a risky looking edge are to be removed from medikits. Plastic safety scissors may be issued to squad leaders upon production of a signed letter from the base training staff and a confirmation from the base psychiatrist. Memo to all base training staff: Xenonauts troops are to be enrolled immediately on a new first aid training course. This course is to be completely AND I REPEAT COMPLETELY separate from the hand to hand combat course this time.
Buzzles
If you haven't got stun batons, smoke grenades work as a handy alternative as long as you keep an eye on it and make sure the injured soldier stays inside the smoke.

Khall
Khall, that's hilarious. I had no idea that worked. I find it an unlikely coincidence that the same build the medkits don't work we get stun batons. I think this game is taking a very dark turn
Gauddlike
I did once have aspirations to be a doctor, but for some reason I wasn't allowed... It may have been when you pulled that great big lever on the wall and yelled 'ITS ALIVE!' before cackling. Just a suggestion.

hullwykearlfc
Just so i am clear on this, we cannot heal injured infantry for the time being using medikits?
