[V8] - Build V8 Missing Sprites List!

This should be the place where you post missing sprites from the new build. You can tell a missing sprite if the normal animation changes to a Jackal (combat armour) wearing soldier with an assault rifle performing the action - this is the default sprite that is played if the one the game is looking for cannot be found.

Known missing sprites:

  • Unarmed soldiers - Basic and Jackal
  • Shotgun-armed soldiers - Basic and Jackal, except for idle animations
  • Stun baton soldiers - Basic and Jackal

Just had a look at the basic armour folder to see which files are present and spotted a few missing from there.

Machine Gun:

- crouchburst_nw

- leanidle_w

- all crouchdeath files

- all injury files

- all lean files

- all unlean files

Pistol:

- crouchburstshoot_nw

- all crouchdeath files apart from n

Rifle:

- crouchburstshoot_nw

- injury_w

- all crouchdeath

Launcher:

- all crouchdeath

- all injury

- all lean

- all leanidle

- all unlean

Shotgun:

- all missing apart from crouchidle and idle

Sniper:

- all files missing

No folders for grenades or flamethrower so either they are all missing or they are kept somewhere else.

Oddly the machine gun/basic combo has full sets of running and crouching Sathra.

*edit* Just noticed the spectre file specifies the "none" folder, for the run animation at least.

Although some of these have been brought up already I decided to summarize all of the current issues with basic armor and add the ones that I did not see in threads:

(1) Wolf armor is shown instead of basic armor for all weapons except for the rifle, rocket launcher, & shotgun.

(2) While displaying the wolf armor (but really in basic), when a grenade is thrown it switches to jackal armor for the duration of the throw.

(3) While displaying the wolf armor (but really in basic), when hit is shows the correct basic armor.

(4) With the shotgun basic armor combination the game crashed when I attempted to move the soldier.

This thread needs updating to 9.4 I think as there are still some missing:

Basic, Jackal and Wolf armours for items like Alien.PlasmaPistol and Alien.Plasmarifle are missing the images, so you can't pick up and use them.

Jackal is missing weapons.laserprecision images.

Jackal and Wolf are missing weapon.scatterlaser images.

Wolf is missing shock baton images (although the shock baton isn't in game yet, so not an issue).

Edit: Minor issue again, but Jackal+Precision rifle is defaulting to the basic+rifle vault rather than the proper Jackal+rifle vault.

A sebillian just died with the animation of a Caesan.

Sebilian guard wearing heavy plasma rifle. It's the tile of a dead Casan on the floor, but inventory shows a Sebillian. It's hapening during a Sebillian terror mission.

13.1. Caesan non-combatants have no sprites at all. Only a shadow. The death animation plays correctly.

13.1. Shield guy plays a basic guy-with-a-pistol animation when moving or kneeling. Haven`t seen him getting hit or dying.

13.1. Civilians jumping over fences are actually running through them with a slightly slower animation. I suppose that there are no civy jumping animations yet or 13.1 unintentionally allowed civies to jump over obstacles.

The above is still present in 15.1!

In addition - Sebilian heavy guy dies as Caesan. And friendly forces (police, military, civilians) as well as aliens do not jump over obstacles - they just run slowly through them.

Also all walls and obstacles are drawn in front of your soldiers making them partially or sometimes totally invisible.
