Darth Draken
I was wondering if i was to send two transports to the same mission and complete half the ground mission could i withdraw my first group of troops and land my second set of troops? cody522
So you mean two transports not in a squadron making runs? I think the mission might fail when the first transport leaves, I don't know though I never had to run away in one. I know terror missions fail as as soon as you leave. Max_Caine
Yeah, if you abort the mission it fails and the downed UFO vanishes.
Darth Draken
Ah shame.
cody522
So what happens when you do send two transports with soldiers in a squadron to a crashsite? Do you get more soldiers in the mission?
Max_Caine
You probably get a crash - never tried it myself, but the maps can only accomodate one dropship.
Commissar Pancakes
It'd definitely improve chances of succeeding a grounded battleship if it spawns two dropships.
Jasmine Moldovia
Honestly I think you should get two drop-ships and double troops... or if not two drop ships, spawn one set of troops next to the ship and the other inside, say one landed unloaded, and took off. But you should be able to bring as many drop-ships (Soldiers) as you want/can support.
thothkins
But then, why wouldn't the aliens just get to send reinforcements and then it just escalates. There may be balance issues in surviving the larger ships, but I'm not sure bringing more and more troops is the answer to it.
little_me
What? wasn't it age old strategy of Xcom to send troops out one after another through the doorway to get shot in the head. Sooner or later the alien would have empty clip...
thothkins
I prefer it to be a little better than having Xenonauts able to use all their resources, while an alien armada sits in orbit and does nothing. Besides, we have a Commissar if we want endless rookies shot in the head going through a doorway.
Commissar Pancakes
It's not my fault that they jump every time I fire a shot over their head to inspire them forwards. They deserved it for being unprepared for the battlefield.
thothkins
Absolutely. You are saving the rest of us from their incompetence in the same way that shooting us saves them from our incompetence.

Commissar Pancakes
Fool! *Shoots corpse for being a paranoid lying twat* Pancakes have no father.
a333
And thus the Commissar walked away, leaving the corpse behind. He dealt with the problem the only way he could accept, and nothing in this world, be it gods or demons, could change his mind. And those OUT of this world, which can, were buried deep down in his syrup soul. Something he couldn't overlook with his steel-cold eyes, something common between him and that man. Something about the way one should deal with his problems. Commissar kept this knowledge. He knew the corpses couldn't lie.
