Citizen844
I don't see an option to update. I literally launched xcom 90 seconds ago with desura, and it's still grinding the shit out of my hard drive. I don't see a stand alone option either...nothing happens when I click it.
Bromley86
Just downloaded v18.3 and then saw this thread . v18.4 isn't showing for me; is it up on Desura for others?
thothkins
on the stand alone download page. downloading now
brian.tani
@omots, I've not being here long so I just had to wait for the 18.3, 18.3.1 and now the 18.4. Based on these experiences they take about 1 weekday to get it approved. Since Orangehat44 and other say it's up, this also falls into the pattern. It's longer to us because we know when Chris uploaded this, and have been counting the seconds over the weekend to see if they get this approved or not. I would enjoy it a lot more if we could have downloaded this on Saturday, for instance, weekends are a better time to get people to test - at least it's a better time for me. Orangehat44
Me too. More aliens on light scout is nice. They seem to be moving more was there any ai tweaks? I did have a weird problem with aliens being able to see and shoot thru walls of their space craft... this time interior walls. On scout team opens door suppress the sibbie, during his turn he runs into the hallway between the two rooms. trying to move my men to the door which is closed triggered reaction fires that came thur the walls of the hallway and killed men, made storming the door vary difficult. Also I noticed the cover indicators are no longer visible dont know if thats intended or not. Ive had two crashes but no discernible reason to what made it crash. Max_Caine
Orangehat, I'd report those bugs on the bug forum so Matthew can enter them in the bug tracker.
Sathra
I reported the one about shooting through walls last build. On the Scout yes?
Moonie
About bloody time. Gimme, gimme.
Iskandar
Yeah, a lot of weirdness. Are UFO doors supposed to be impervious to rocket fire now? And smoke and fire behave... well, oddly. Either they don't update at all, update a turn later, or update during the same turn... just 1 tile every two or three seconds.
Sathra
Then there's the missing graphics, the lack of a hit chance being displayed if the cursor isn't over a unit or certain props. Still, enjoying the other changes.
centiles
Ugh, not sure if I will skip 18.4... EDIT: No I won't, can't resist.
owen_magnetic
Having followed this development for the last couple of years, I just purchased beta access on Desura and downloaded 18.4. It's brilliant fun so far -- I think the addition of the supression mechanic is great. I've noticed that the "Industrial" tileset is missing most of its art and it shows up as white space with the occasional wall or tree. Is this a known problem or should I re-download?
Sathra
Known problem. You can try alt-tabbing in and out, which can fix most of the white space. Its due to the file archiving or something.
steelwarrior
Hi Guys, what is your Impression - is it stable enough and bug free enough for a Lets Play - I mean alt tabing and stuff would kill my recording...
Sathra
Not really. Its been crashing every so often for me. But other than the crashes (still trying to narrow down a specific cause) and graphical glitches there aren't any bugs I've found.
Chris
Ah, I've just worked out why I'd never been able to repro the "white tiles" bug before. It only occurs in fullscreen mode, and I never play in fullscreen mode.
Sathra
That's odd, since the screenshot I took of it was while it was running in a window...though I have noticed that it only occurs during the second or third combat of the session.
