  1. I personaly like the new XCOM-Row about the Storyline, Chars and what it also makes the certain something it gives the Player / Players. What UFO 1 ET belongs, it should the first attempt to give the old X-COM-Row an fully new Successor with 2 or 3 linked Storygames. With new Technologys / Possibilitys UFO 2 ET on the Market show us with DLCs for it in the Making (and Xenonauts 2 get in the new Technology-Posibility-Features too) that tonnes of outdated Things are not all. The new XCOM-Row is the first Pioneer of that new Gerne-Generation, which show us that Technologys / Possibilitys, but get slowly a bit age. With the Complete-Refit from UFO 1 ET, the full WIP-Xenonauts 2 (Beta-Status-Gametests), as well as an DLC-Reworked UFO 2 ET [after the Complete-Refit UFO 1 ET Platinum is done] we all get an complete new Generation of that Gerne with Possibilitys and Features we didn´t have dreamed of. That dosen´t mean that I don´t play Games with more complex Features, like the JA-Games, Hearts of Iron 4 and such, where you have to handle with more of that. They make fun too and an similar Game comes too from the Modders of the new XCOM-Row, which get called Terra Invicta. But the Devs here have to make an very very very small Ballance-Act about the more Tonnes of Features. What I have learend in my more then 30 Years+ of Gaming is that the mix of all that Games makes the allurement. Combined with a cool Gameplay, Storyline, Missions, Chars and R & D-Equipment it gives the fun to the Player. Esp. in the Alien vs. Human-Gerne and Historical Gerne that is very hard to Ballance. Means: You have to bring Beginners, Occassion-Gamers and Pros / Veterans on one Table. The Game have to be so Ballanced and Featured that all of them have fun (not to much overload, no unoversight, good playability and so on).
  2. I played Xenonauts 1 too with the X-Devision Mod. I aggree it is the best Gameupgrade from the Predecessor to Xenonauts 2. It have many new Ideas, cool Upgrades and so on. Since the UFO ET-Series, new XCOM-Series get more Stuff and Refits as well as the very cool Successor Xenonauts 2 is in the Making I canceld to play the outdated Xenonauts 1.
  3. I thank God, that such Games like the UFO-Extraterestials-Row, the old X-Com-Row and Xenonauts-Row is Singleplayer. Yes it gave in the Microprose-Time with an try to make that Row a little bit MP-Playable. I think that was the Name (UFO - the 2 Sides). But fast it was seen, that such Games are much better in SP. Something similar is integrated again in the new XCOM-Series, but I don´t use it about several good reasons. I have my Experiance in that from many Games. WoW is the only Game which I have to play with people I don´t know. In very closely circle of Friends / very closely circle of Family evtl. Starcraft, Diablo or such. You see the older Gamer-Generation is very cautios in that, which have it´s big reasons.
  4. OK, then the Beta-Offer on Steam seems to be discontinued. But it sounds good that the Devs think for the Future and offer an Early-Access-Testing then. There the Game is more stable, Gapfillers are over 90% away etc. And Sorry that I was so harsh. I´m a very patient Human, but if something like the massive Changes from Xenonauts 2 to it´s predecessor have to be repeated thousend times (on all Platforms) and outdated Things come everytime back, then not only I .
  5. I aggree with Mandoflipp for the new Complexity, Rework, Refits etc. in Xenonauts 2. I was very friendly the whole time with explenations of Differences it have already and show you where the Dev-Offer is to test Xenonauts 2 yourself (Steam). Now I say it directly: Komandos I only see Xenonauts 1 with the X-Devision Mod in your Examples, which haven´t any value for the Buildup / Gamplayability in Xenonauts 2 anymore. The Devs refited Xenonauts 2 during the first Beta-Phases already in the Geoscape, the Missions, UFOs, Enemys and all other important / secondary Parts with more cools Stuff / Secrets comming in. Some Parts get testet already others are complete new. Test Xenonauts 2 yourself and don´t nerve with the completely outdated Xenonauts 1 anymore.
  6. Good Joke Silencer, I laugh, when I have time. What I mean with "Wrong Playstile" is when the Playstile don´t get adjustet to the latest Game-Version. I have done in the V.22.0-Version an similar Mistake like you, until I have changed my Playstile to the announced Points in my first Threat. The Devs announced in the last Dev Dirays and Version-Presentations, that big Game-Changes will come in to make it more interessting. That includes the "Cleaners", "Spys" and whatever, which block your Income etc. Some testet cool Features (like the Outposts which bring in Money or such) are not in atm, but with the new V.23 + Versions we will get more of that back. About 80% or 90% from the Testet Parts are in Upgrade- / Refit-Work or come back in an other shape. An similar Example you have with Hoi 4 after the first big Refit with 1.11 "Barbarossa" and the DLC "No Step Back". If you play then with the Playstile from 1.0.0 to 1.10.8 and prevoius DLCs, then you will go down faster as you can say "Iwo Jima". What I have learned (and with the old X-COM-Games as well as UFO 1 ET on the hard Way) in over 30 Years of Gaming is to make a Plan before playing. That includes to use your Money, Supply and esp. Soldiers / Fighter-Craft / Support-Vehicles etc. very very wisely. And with that Project "Xenonauts 2", which is completely new to all of us or the most of us [Founder and fully Betatester] we have to learn fast adjustment to the next Versions. Esp. in the Alpha / Beta-Phases with every upcomming Version (like from V.21 to V.22) where new Features come in, Features get Changed / Upgraded / Refited, Mainparts get Canceld or Cut out for Refit / Rework and so on. Some Games (like the 303 Squadron: Battle for Britain / U-Boat) are mostly coming as Early Access, which is a Stable Version you can Test. Or in both Variants (Stable / Unstable) where more Features for Testing come in to make the Game better. The best Example here is U-Boat, which is like "Xenonauts 2" in fully Devolpment. But the Difference here is, that most Parts of the Game are done [Early Access], with more Features and missing Content comes in.
  7. Then you play wrong. Otherwise it´s not explainable. With my Explenation and Soldiers / MARS-Vehicles used with care, you can play without Problems to Day 365+. In my last Gameplay (V.22.5) I and many other Testers were in that timeline and minimum 1 more Base in Action. In the Beginning and Midgame you will be ever outguned and have to use your Equipment / Soldiers with 1.000% care. That realistic Thing is integrated in all Games of that Gerne. Dosen´t matter if it´s old X-COM, new XCOM, Phoenix Point, UFO-ET-Series, old UFO-After-Series, Alien: AI and other Fan-Projects as well as Xenonauts 1. In Xenonauts 2 it isn´t different. The Devs wrote already, that it will be done as realistic against the Aliens. Means: You are outgunned, outnumberd and outresourced. If you don´t look for your People / Equipment and have to train / build everytime new, than it´s clear that you get Bankrupt and don´t hold the first Minimum 6 Month (180 Days). Play it like I wrote above, then you will see the Difference to your Playstile (all In) and the Others (like Emely and mine) which can play without Problems to the atm. Beta-Stop-Part (incl. R & D and Testing / Upgrading).
  8. You get Bankrupt about several reasons. The Game plays completely differnt after the important Refits and more Enemy-Integrations in V.22. To get alive the first half Year (182 Days) and longer you have to do the following Steps: 1. Only upgrade your Main-Base with an Hospital, Training Centre, Storage Room, Generator and two Rocket-Defenses, the first 3 are very important in the first Base-Upgrade directly by Gamestart. In the second Month (Day 31) you get more Money for the Generator and one Rocket-Defense, in the third month (Day 62) for the second Rocket-Defense, which are important too. 2. After you get the Cleaner-Information to 125%, which get realy fast (the Autopsy and Interrogaton of a Living one gives you a big Boost), make your Soldiers Battle-Ready for the Cleaner-Base. But don´t attack it, before you are Battle-Ready for it. 3. To get better Battle-Ready for heavyer Aliens and the Cleaner-Base-Attack you have to upgrade your existing Weapons (Standard-Weapons) to Accellerated, which need some Time. The Riflemens, Infantry, Shotgunners and LMG-Soldiers get Minimum the Defender-Armor with the Plate Suit [Shotgunners, Riflemens, Infantry, Sniper] / Target Aid [LMG, Grenadiers]. Much better in that Combination is for the Front-Troopers the Warden-Armor with with the Plate Suit [Shotgunners, Riflemens, Infantry] / Target Aid [LMG] and Standard-Suit with Plate Suit [Snipers] / Standard-Suit with Target Aid [Grenadiers]. 4. Until you get the Camoulfage Suit [an upgrade from your Standard Suit], which get the Warden-Armor and Plate-Suit completely integrated, you get an big Upgrade. Before you have to use the Vest and Plate-Suit-Upgrade seperatly first. That new Suit I use for my Grenadiers, Snipers and LMGs. After you get the Camouflage Suit [Stealth Armor], you can use the Target Aid and better Vests [like the Healing Suit] much better. 5. The Front-Troopers get the Guardian-Battle-Armor [Riflemens, Infantry, Shotgunners] with an Healing Suit as Upgrade. That´s the Main 5 Points, I do for the Upgrades for my Soldiers. To give them more Firepower, 1 Soldier (later 2) get replaced from MARS-Vehicles with Upgrades there too [Alloy Armor, Rocket Launcher and Laser-Cannon]. To get more Money in the Game and the first Year (360 Days) you have to do following: 1. Make Autopsys, which get 100.000 Founds for the most Autopsys directly. Then you get about 300.000 to 400.000 Founds in the beginning Phases. I use that for the Upgrade of my Soldiers to geth them faster Battle-Ready and for 1 / 2 MARS-Vehicle for Support. The Vehicles are very good, esp. after they get the first Armor-Upgrade from Steel to Alloy. 2. Some Autopsys / Interrogations give you an monthly Found Upgrade (total 300.000 Founds [about 50.000 Founds or a little bit more for each Founder-Nation]). 3. After you get this Upgrades (Weapons / Vests / Armor) for your Soldiers, attack the Cleaner-Base at about that Time you get your Game-Over. In most Cases the Attack is done about Day 100 to 115 (don´t forgett the Accelerated Weapons and minimum light Armor / Vests). Then you get 1.000.000 Founds directly and an first big monthly Founds-Upgrade from all Founder-Countrys. 4. After you get your own Aircrafts (f. e. Pegasus Dropship / X-55 Phantom-Interceptor) and you Decomission the X-25 Angels as well as the Skyhawk-Dropship the montly Leasing-Rate drops drastically, which gives you more Founds at Month-End (about 300.000 only for the X-25 Squadron and Pegasus-Dropship in total). 8. With that you can build up an secondary Base in America or Asia-Pacific / Russia-Asia. I place my first Base like you in Africa with the full Radar-Coverage over Europe / Africa. Means: If all goes well, you don´t need more than 4 Bases in total. 1 Main-Base (with everything you need) and 3 smaller Bases (Storage, Fighters, Radar, Defenses). But that is the atm-Status. I concentrate on that in the V.22-Gameplay. We will see how the Gameplay will be with the upcomming Version V.23, which get more already testet and refited / upgraded Features back and more Surprisses like the Cleaners we don´t know yet.
  9. Yes, it´s a similar Creature in the looking, but it´s not an Tentaculat like in old X-Com. It only looks so, but it´s for the Game and Storyline much important after a while. You see the other Creature in the Picture, that´s the Reaper (Tentaculat).
  10. Yes, that get announced in the Previous Variants of the V.22-Version too with the Ammo and Infantry-Laser MG. And I noticed it to since my first Long-Gameplay with V.22.5. Atm. you have only that Choise with more Magazines or switching to the Gauss-Weapons asap after you have the first Infantry-Laser-Tech. It seems that we have to wait for an other Hotfix (V.22.7) or the new V.23-Version, which solves that and some other Laser-Weapon-Problems (like f.e. the upgraded Infantry-Lasers / No Laser-Gun for the Airforce).
  11. Sounds strange. An similar Report comes from Emely_F. Have to Test it in an new Game too, because the R & D as well as use of that Weapons I didn´t make Problems in V.22.5 with Research and Build.
  12. Yep, that´s an Problem which comes sometimes. Has something to do with Explosions and some Map-Objects. Had an similar Problem like you announce and couldn´t reproduce it after loading and doing an different tactic.
  13. Hmm... that´s strange. All others could play to Day 340+ incl. me, but that dosen´t matter anymore. We all have to try a new Test with V.22.6 since short.
  14. Yes Emely. Exactly that I have noticed too. Hope the Devs will fix it for V.23. Not to forget that Laser Weapons can’t be mounted on Fighters. In the Versions before (V.19, evtl. V.20 / V.21) you could mount them on fighters to improve the combat-abilities a little (after the acceleration upgrade for Fighter Cannons.
  15. OK Chris. Will attach the Save today evening, have it forgotten yesterday. That´s the Save which I had the Issues with the Missles. It was the Oberserver with the 2 modernised Alien-Fighters. Had switch off the Missles and switched on while in Battle for a good shooting Position against the Fighters. Directly there the Game make an CTD. I have not Sidewinders and the normal Torpedo anymore, they are already upgraded to Alenium Missles and Alenium Torpedos, but it´s the same Problem in Air-Combat.   16. That Problem is still active with V.22.5. Atm. the only Solution is to bring them Back to Main-Base and Decommision them there.
  17. The Problem I have announced too with an UFO-Swarm [Observer or Harvester with 2 modernised Alien-Fighters] yesterday. Dosen´t matter what Aircrafts my Team used [X-25 "Angels" or X-55 "Phantoms"]. With one Difference: The Sidwinders were upgraded to Alenium-Missles already on Version 22.5 and between Day 270 to 290. I have too look for the Save today Evening, then I will try to attach it. Can´t do it atm. because I´m not at Home.
  18. Yes, that Trigger comes, if you don´t find the last Alien. I had this too in several Versions before V.21 / V.22 and won with that Trigger several Missions. That it dosen´t working in V.22.5 is very strange. Maybe the Devs have something changed and the Trigger is out of Function.
  19. In older Versions (V.13 to V.17) I had such Problems after some Hotfixes too. Good to read that the 2 Steps helped (delete old / corrupt / damaged Saves and / or Settings), then the Problem should be solved.
  20. Therefore you have 2 Options from the Devs directly, which you can use since this Year for Xenonauts 2. First the Beginner to General-Setting, which is usable since Beta 19 or 20 (4 Difficultys). Secondly the Ironman-Mode, which you can activate (but it isn´t advised) in the Beta-Versions, better later in the more stable Versions [Pre Early-Access or such]. An third Option you get later on [stable Early Access or similar], which is the Modding-Option. What you need for that and what you can Mod (for sure not everything) we will know then. Btw. The best useable Things from Xenonaut 1 are implemented already to short the Development-Time for Xenonauts 2. The Devs don´t wanna have a 1:1 Copy from Xenonauts 1 with only new Graphics, the Devs make a complete new Game with much cooler Features and Surprisses. All get tired about the 08/15 Xenonauts 1 here, which get in the CE-Editon from the Community enough support. It don´t have the Abilitys and Refit-Oportunitys Xenonauts 2 have. It was nice for it´s time, but it´s outdated for many Reasons. Instead the Devs concentrate to Xenonauts 2 which is in WIP. It´s a Rival to the new XCOM-Series (about 10 Years out), UFO-ET-Series (about 13 Years out "UFO 1 ET" and 5 Month out "UFO 2 ET" with an DLC for UFO 2 ET in the Making as well as an complete Refit for UFO 1 ET in the Making) and with WIP-DLCs-Expansions Phoenix Point as an very good Comparission. It have the best Features from Xenonauts 1 (like the Soldierthings) with new Oportunitys, Features etc. to be on the same or better level like it´s direct Rivals. That Means: Either we going the Outdated way or we go the Future-Way. And the Devs are going the Future way not to get left behind. Commandos and all others have to test the upcomming new V.23-Version, after she is there. Then they know what is meant. The Offer in Steam to join the Beta-Test is still there.
  21. Thanks Chris for the Hotfix. Begunn Testing it yesterday Evening. The Airforce-Armor fix I have to test out. That is a must have Bugfix as well as the other big ones, which get mentioned. To get an upgraded Research Text for Lasers sounds great too as an Bonus. That seems to be the first Beta-Version I wanna play through as best before the new V.23-Version will come out.
  22. Why should they do that? 3 Things are already fact: 1. You are overhelmed with "Cleaners" and already implemented Aliens from beginning on in all Aspects (Weapons, Airforce, etc.). 2. You are outgunned from the already known Enemys from beginning on (Airforce, Groundforces, Defenses incl. Armor). 3. The Point 1 get more the bigger the UFOs are (f. e. Destroyer, Cruiser, Harvester). Short said: You have enough to do to get your Combat-Soldiers / Combat-Vehicles alive from beginning on. The best way to see it yourself is to use the Offer from the Dev-Team on Steam and assist the Founders / Betatesters. Then you will see what I mean.
  23. In the Beginning means the first ones which you can Research very fast from the Civilian Versions to catch Enemys for Interregation. That was a little bit unintellegible expressed. This weapons can be Upgraded with better Technologys later on. Like the Conventional Weapons to Accellerated f. e. What the Knife belongs, the Knife is a very good Close Combat Weapon. It´s upgradeable too later on in Xenonauts 2.
  24. I noticed that too, but the Battery can´t give more power for the Clip and first Human-Infantry-Energy-Weapons. That belongs to the Reason, that we can´t bring in more Energy for such an Energy-Magazin with our Standard-High-Technology and Nuclear- / Fussion-Energy-Output. After you have Researched the advanced Basic-Tech (Keyword: Alien-Crystals) from our Enemys you should get better Engery-Ammo-Clips. If I remember me correctly. What the other Thing belongs, I saw that too. Maybe it is volitional about Reasons which we don´t know yet. But if possilbe, an secondary Shoot-Mode like for the LMG would be nice (esp. for the Beta-Test-Phase until there are new Infos)

The Meele Weapon I use to catch living Enemys for Interrogation (after the Basic R & D this will be very important) and against Mechanical Enemys (Robots / Drones etc.) for an faster deactivation. You get the following in the Beginning: 1. Stun Baton (the best thing against Mechanical and for surprisse Close Attacks from Shield-Soldier and Shotgun-Soldier to stun living Aliens and other living Enemys / deactivation from Mechanical Enemys) 2. Stun Gun (the long Range Variant from the Stun Baton which is very good against Mechanical Enemys; good for Infantry-Soldiers with some Stun Grenades too to catch living Aliens and other living Enemys) 3. Stun Grenades (for LMG-Soldiers, Sniper-Rifle-Soldiers and Rifle-Man-Soldiers to give Assistance to catch Living Aliens and other living Enemys ) 4. Stun Ammo (for Grenadier-Soldiers; same like Stun Grenades) You have to know when to use one of them correctly. That´s all and then your Soldiers work effectivly. In all of my Games so far with Beta 22.0 to Beta 22.4 I have catched about 20 Psyons, 12 to 15 Sebillians, about 5 to 6 Mentrachs, more then 50 Cleaners alive for Interrogation and deactivated about 20 Mechanical Enemys (big Robots and Drones) with Stun-Guns and Stun-Batons. Short said: The beginning Stun Weapons are effective for the beginning and with more R & D they get much better against the Enemys and sadly for uninvolved Civilian / Xenonaut helping NPC-Soldiers. All Games of that and similar Gernes (like Diablo-Series, Starcraft-Series, UFO-ET-Series, old UFO-Aftermath-Series, old and new X-COM-Series) start with outgunned Soldiers or Humankind.
