I mean: the Ceasan fired on its own engine....

This made me lol really hard.

Yikes! did anyone make it out of there?

There were two Ceasan and one of my squad.

After the Ceasan fired on its engine the other ceasan died immediately. My soldier survived in the flames, albeit with only 1 health point left.

On next turn my soldier died.

I waited for a few turns, until the fire ended, then opened the south/west door with another soldier. The Ceasan was still there. He must have suffered major injuries, as he died after a single shot.

Woah, nice. I've never seen the source go off sadly.

Hehe - is that what the power source explosion looks like? Someone has set that to have a 100% chance of spawning fire, it seems

I grenaded one, and it went off like the above pic.

Both troops standing pretty nearby managed to remain unscathed. Caesian inside was roasted.

Such a cool event, I even remember the trooper's name. It was Maxim Popov, now Maxim(um) "Carnage" Popov.

It happens if your hunter shoots the side of the alien vessel through the window aswell.

I lose more power cores that way.... well that and grenades. Darn grenade loving troops. Apparently the motto is "Throw explosives ask questions later"

You know that sometimes the alien spawns in against the core and when the UFO crashlands it is already smoking and so the alien dies... lol (easiest missions ever)
