Deathbyirony
So I've run into a hitch regarding re-confirming my pre-order. Namely, I've long since deleted the pay-pal email with the necessary details. Now while I recognize the folly of my actions, I'm pretty sure I'm not unique in this. Chris
Firstly, it's the subscription email from Xenonauts.com entitled "New User Subscribed at Xenonauts.com" that you need, not the Paypal email. If you don't have that one, then drop me an email (chris@xenonauts.com) from the account used to pre-order the game and I'll sort you out. I hope there isn't hundreds of you! Voight-Kampff
What is this about re-confirming pre-orders? This is the first I've heard of it. Should we all be doing this?
Sheng-ji
What is this about re-confirming pre-orders? This is the first I've heard of it. Should we all be doing this? You should receive an email with all the details which reads like this: Hi, You are receiving this email because you have pre-ordered the indie game Xenonauts. We’ve made some changes to our pre-order system, and we wanted to explain them to you. As some of you may be aware, we have had trouble with Paypal freezing our account and locking our funds for six months (you can read full details here and here). Because of this, we’ve been forced to find a new payment provider and we’ve taken the opportunity to update our site, which means that the pre-order system has also changed. Pre-orders builds can now be downloaded through Desura rather than from our forums. Desura is a download service similar to Steam that specialise in indie games, and provide similar services to other indie games such as Project Zomboid. You will receive an email with a free key to claim your Xenonauts pre-order in the next 24 hours. The current build is V7.5 (the Expo build that came out about 6 weeks ago now), but we will be releasing V8 next weekend. A preview of the V8 contents is available here. Unfortunately, we had to wipe all forum accounts as part of the site move. You will need to register a new account at http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forum if you want to participate. On the plus side, our new forums are powered by vBulletin and so are much easier to use and nicer to look at than the previous ones. The other major change we are making to pre-orders is that the standard pre-orders will now cost $19.99, while a premium pre-order will cost $29.99. As you were not presented with this choice when you pre-ordered the game previously, we have set up a system on our site allowing you to choose between accepting a Premium Pre-Order or a Standard Pre-Order plus a $10 refund. This process is started on the page here. We are hoping there will be good take-up of the Premium Pre-Orders, but ultimately the choice is entirely yours and we will refund anyone who wants to take the lower-priced Standard package. We are also starting to firm up our plans regarding how the game will be delivered at release. We are planning to offer pre-orderers the choice of either a Steam key or a Desura key for the final game. We’ve still not yet put pen to paper with Steam so this is not set in stone, but it appears the most likely option at this stage. If you have any questions on this, it is best to post them up on our forums as it’s more than likely some of the other 2,000 people receiving this email have had similar questions and my inbox will explode if you all email me at once. Thanks for the support you’ve given the project so far – it’s greatly helped us with development and I can assure you the quality of the final product will be noticeably higher for it. Cheers, Chris. Chris, it may be worth making a sticky post with the information you posted above in, also, do we have the equivalent of spoiler tags? Chris
I'll look into spoiler tags. I'm sure vBulletin must support them. If you've pre-ordered the game, you should be getting that email at the email address tied to your pre-order. If you've not, then drop me an email and I'll fix you up. Deathbyirony
Well in particular I'm trying to find the transaction ID spoken of at http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/legacy-pre-orders/ Though I've recieved an email saying I've been sent a copy of the email via Desura, I'd like to complete the process of the whole Premium Pre-order package. I have no intention of asking for money that I've already amicably parted with, and want to make that official.

Leto
Good thing I have a map in my mailbox 'Important' where I drop every e-mail with any form of codes in it
Chris
Yup - if you've lost the email from Xenonauts.com entitled "New User Subscribed at Xenonauts.com" that you need (or never recieved it), just send me a mail (Chris@xenonauts.com). It's easy enough for me to drag my copy from the depths of my inbox.
Nuttss
Once I actually read the instructions and put in the transaction ID from Chris and not from PP, worked like a charm.

Annex
Would help if the pre-order confirmation screen told you about the email subject youre searching for in your old mail, so folks wouldnt have to go digging for thankfully useful threads like this one
DrunkZombie
I have a different problem. I have the email but the id isn't working. Yes, I am sure I am using the right email and the right id. The email is from Xenonauts, not paypal. I'll send you an email Chris. Edit: Ok. Got it working. It was linked to my main paypal address even though it wasn't the address the confirmation email was sent to or is the one I used to register to xenonauts with. Qiox
It took 4 minutes for Chris to reply to my email. Let's see you get that down to 3 minutes ok

Sunblinder
Damn - messed up by not clicking the "Now play" or whatever it was button. Game isn't linked, and if I try again it tells me that my account has already been used. Anyone come across that / solved that already before I bug the developers?
Chris
Sunblinder - I take it it's now linked given your pretty little badge?
Malekal
Hi Chris, I have been able to link game 'n forum and all. I can't seem however to find where to set my status to Premium based on the fact I pre-ordered long ago. However, I have misplaced the original one, thus if the premium part was beyond the legacy page, I'm out of luck... Thanks, Malekal.
Chris
The link to the legacy pre-order page should be in the Desura invite email. Email me if you're really struggling to find it.
Sunblinder
Hi Chris, No - unfortunately not. If I try to go to Xenonauts in Desura it tells me I don't have the game and gives me the option to buy either of the two versions. :-( To be fair I made a mistake in not clicking the play link, but I can't seem to get it to link the game now no matter what I do.
