  1. I still have to rate it as unplayable. This is the first time I've tried to play again since version V17.5 but I am just running into the same problem. Alien turns during maps never end. I have to ALT-F4 out of the game. I did get to finish the 1st map, and that's a first for me out of all the times I've tried to play. But the 2nd map quickly crapped out during an alien turn. Oh well.. cya in a couple months with hopefully better results...
  2. Is a "Hidden Movement" screen that so far has lasted 8 minutes a sign of a very deep and thoughtful AI? The mouse still moves around, the music still plays, I can tab out and back and the screen will refresh so it isn't a hard crash. Just lost in thought I guess. I guess it's ALT-F4 and try again in a few months. Not much point in checking out the game when I can't get past turn 3 on the 1st ground mission.
  3. Yes always destroyed. The 1st shot from my interceptors (I send 2 f-17's also) destroys the UFO. It's always medium size. And I've always started the game on default difficulty. Would trying a harder one make it more likely they will crash instead? And ya, I know about the over land thing. That's not an issue. Thanks for the debug suggestion. I'll give that a go and finally see what the ground combat looks like.
  4. I have yet to get to play a ground mission in the builds released so far. Is there something special you have to do? No aliens ships are ever spotted on the ground. No matter how long I follow one in the air (until my fuel requires me to return to base) they never land. When I intercept there's only 2 outcomes: 1) I destroy the ship outright. 2) The intercept screen appears overlaid on top of the world map and about 10 seconds later the game crashes. So how do you actually test the ground combat?
