  1. There's been a number of updates in the meantime but this is a biggun' and hopefully bump worthy: [video=youtube;cgke9Bcy_vU]
  2. Does look nice. I hope the cooperative nature of it doesn't take out all the tension. Where'd you buy it? One of those links on the BGG site?
  3. I think it was the old shooter (when it was called just XCOM) that was supposed to have more "strategy". It changed a lot since then. But yeah, it's a shame. If I really wanted an x-com shooter I would've preferred the original concept.
  4. To be fair it was pretty obvious this game is a shooter. It wasn't falsely advertised afaik.
  5. It's alright as far as expansions go I guess. Can't bring myself to be really excited about it though.
  6. Maybe you just got unlucky with the damage rolls and the randomness thereof.
  7. The wiki was written like 9 balance patches ago.
  8. That explains why sectoids would sometimes live through 2 laser shots. It added a nice bit of unpredictability. Are you trying to get fired? So they actually spread out and can potentially damage multiple (adjacent?) targets?
  9. There was review embargo until release so that's why there's no reviews yet. For once it seems a quiet release isn't a cover up for a horribly buggy and unfinished game. From what I see on the steam forums the game's fairly bug free (no major issue at least) and very faithful to the board game (almost identical really) so pretty much what it says on the tin. Will most likely wait for sale myself as well.
  10. Camo for where? These guys fight all over the world. In urban and snow environments the current color would work better than green/black/red. Forests? Well there aren't really forests in this game. Green camo might work for farms but only some parts. And then there's deserts...

    Anime

The French cinema has you in its sights John. Or should I say Jean? It's not too late to mend your ways.
  12. I think this simply hasn't been balanced yet. I doubt they were planning on leaving it this way.

    Anime

They're still young but joint pains will be terrible when they get older. I just can't abide these Japanese pedo-fantasies which is a shame because I like the premise of the show.
  14. I could be wrong but I get the impression that tanks in Xenonauts do have drivers. They look like actual vehicles, not drones. Not that it's relevant.
  15. There are 3 UFO: After games so you're not out of the race yet. I used to think LPs were a frivolous, pointless fad but now they've become a major means of relaxation for me as well so I can definitely empathize.
  16. While people of reason are mostly aware of this to some extent it's always nice to see it explained in more detail: http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/RaminShokrizade/20130626/194933/The_Top_F2P_Monetization_Tricks.php
  17. More missions, more money. Gamers tend to strive for optimization and "maximum output" so to speak.
  18. Glory to the golden pan and the God-cake of mankind! Silence of the lambcakes.
  19. I don't know but it looks like we have another body. Judging by the syrup coagulation death occurred less than 8 hours ago. The cut is uneven, messy yet too localized and small in scope for it to be a crime of passion. The dismembered piece is neatly laid out as if on display. I think the killer may be sending us a message.
  20. I want them to switch their name to Goldhawk Arts, "The way it's meant to be hawk'd.". They should then start making Call of Xeno (or Gold of Hawk) games every year.
