  1. I know I may have posted this before, but just how final are the "new" enemies in the game? I'm primarily talking about the tall bois that explode (False Androns) the Eye-ball wallpenetrator thingies (Laser Eye), and the new Reaper Firstly, I hate the shit out of the fact that the false androns walk through their own ship's walls to shoot you. Secondly, their sheer size is very immersion breaking and it honestly ruins my sense of immersion when I see a 10m thin-legged robot casually strolling torwards me. Additionally, the blast radius on their attacks and the blast radius of their deaths need to be toned down, a LOT. I don't want to fight walking nukes in the final game. Secondly, the laser eyes. While I have only seen 1 during an alien base assault mission, it already seemed very out of place. Not only was it blinding white and very smooth (In direct contrast to the very industrial angular red and black drones) it also apparently shoots through walls? I couldn't exactly tell, but it seemed like it could hit soldiers standing behind full cover for around 30 points of free damage. The laser eyes also bring up another question, which is whether or not the aliens will remain primarily organic. I liked the fact that every alien you killed besides some supporting drones was a living creature. It just doesnt feel as satifying to end an andron than say, a Ceasian simply because the Andron will not scream in pain or bleed all over the floor. I hope that most aliens will remain organic and not robotic to keep this trend going. Lastly, whats up with the reapers? Why do they come back from the dead? Why do they suddenly wipe out entire cities on the 3rd turn? What happend? I like the fact that they don't 1 tap soldiers anymore and instead have to actually kill your dudes before they get infected (best change so far), but why do they not die now? TLDR: Don't like some of the new enemies very much, sorry for the rant.
  2. I'm sure this will be ironed out eventually. I remember the devs said they will fix the dumbass AI in the next update.
  3. I'm not sure if you guys knew beforehand or not, but people still post youtube videos of the unfinished game https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJku2KBrmZphQ6H7O3MowCw TBH I think he has some valid points about the new andron unit, its not that well balanced and it would be nice if we could get some confirmation as to whether it is going to remain like it is currently forever. I think me and a few other people would love to see the andron returned to its Xenonuats 1 form
  4. Just curious, what role does the orbital bombardment serve? Is it solely to rush you to try and finish a project endgame? It seems kinda weird that countries blame you for something you literally can't prevent. At the very least, it would be nice to research some tech later on like a shield generator or something that would prevent the bombardment over a certain area.
  5. How configurable will Xenonauts 2 be? I'm asking because Xenonauts 1 had very accessible numbers and code so I could tweak my soldiers and enemies into what I wanted. Mostly asking because my favorite thing to do in Xenonauts 1 was to play with my soldier's stats massively buffed so I wouldn't have to "train" them.
  6. I think that doesn't work for Xenonauts. Xenonauts is about preventing the alien invasion, not trying to remove them from power once they're here. Xenonauts story is much more centered around the fact that the Xenonauts are a very official and globally supported organization fighting against an unknown enemy. Xenonauts are not a small guerilla force, they are an international organization with huge amounts of resources at their disposal, like the UN.
  7. True that! Personally I love playing these games by destroying the cities and environments as little as possible. It feels nicer to work around buildings and precision kill all the alien without wiping out an entire town in the process.
  8. Seriously what happened to them? In X1 they were extremely useful for determining what will protect you and what won't. Why haven't they been added to X2 yet?
  9. Yeah I'm not sure how much copying XDiv is going to help. TBH air combat is kind of boring after a while and nothing would be lost from just making autoresolve strong. People who hate air combat will autoresolve and win almost every time, as they want to, and those who don't won't autoresolve and may lose or win. Please add the 100% chance or whatever modifiers for autoresolve back, that system was so good in the previous game.
  10. Yeah definitely don't make the same mistakes as Phoenix Point. That game forces you to cheese in order to override the enemy's BS. Honestly just keeping the main feeling from the previous games would be good.
  11. Yeah I don't know about placing that stuff in the base game. I'd much rather prefer the current grounded, somewhat hard sci fi setting the first vanilla game had. Of course, if you can somehow mod the stuff you mentioned into a total conversion mod, like you did for the first game, then that would be pretty cool.
  12. When will you consider balancing some of the ground combat units? Those floaty orb eye things still feel like placeholders and the new androns are not necessarily appreciated. Either way, I'm loving the game so far! I am definitely pleased that you decided to keep the core gameplay of Xenonauts 1. After all, don't fix what isn't broken. Anyways I hope you cool dudes enjoyed your Christmas vacation, and have a happy new year.
  13. Not gonna lie, I think you are the only person who loads up games simply to pracitce. Usually, losing a soldier is either a quickload for me so maybe thats why its not a problem
  14. So Phoenix Point is a massive disappointment and I've already played the XCOM games That being said, can we have any sort of estimated time of release from the devs. They seem awfully quiet recently and I'm worried this game will just turn into abandonware. I really hope it comes out soon, cause I've run out of XCOM like games completely, and this seems to be exactly what I'm looking for
  15. What about adding some sort of flat damage reduction. For example, it is said that the wolf armor can tank a 50cal at point blank range. For the wolf, we would simply add ignore certain amount of ballistic damage as a flat value. This system is easy to balance and it makes single shot damage weapons more viable, as 1 big damage only gets reduced once, unlike multiple strike weapons like a machine gun. This system would make getting new armor much more rewarding, as previous alien weapons May not even scratch your new suit.
  16. TBH Alien smoke seems like it could either be really annoying, really useless, or maybe very OP. In general terrain modification probably shouldn't be a tool given to the AI because of how dumb it is. If we give the aliens smoke grenades, I wouldn't be surprised if they just covered the entire map in smoke.
  17. As of right now, the HEVY launcher's base accuracy is WAY too low. Equipping a soldier with this weapon is basically suicide because they're more likely to blow themselves up than the enemy.
  18. Watching some of the youtube videos of Xenonauts 2, what happened to the Androns? When did they go from footsoldiers to basically mechs? The new model is a bit immersion breaking and the fact that they walk through their own UFO's walls is also not very helpful. Also why do they explode when they die now? Isn't that mostly supposed to be something the drones do? TLDR: The new Androns are immersion breaking and I don't like their art style or balance changes.
  19. I think adding companies would ruin part of the atmosphere of Xenonauts. You have to remember that this is a much more legitimate, much less back door program, unlike XCOM. We cant even sell things for a profit and we get all of our funding from countries, not companies or private individuals. Having to manage individual companies would really take the scale of the game down a peg from a global organization to more of a national organization. For example, if Lockheed Martin got infiltrated by aliens, that's the US government's job to deal with them, not the Xenonauts.
