thothkins
Arctic mission. I know (die to some previous fun on similar maps) that there will be at least 1 alien just out of range. So, I choose a shortcut through a building to get a better position. except I can't as the civilian is completely blocking my way. But he wasn't alone. This is when I try to leave the building. get out of the doorway! Gah!
Assoonasitis
I once had a civilian (local forces member) run and stand right next to an alien in the only spot he would have been in the way of me killing the thing. He then proceeded to not shoot at the alien or do anything useful at all and half of my squad died as a result.
thothkins
My last terror mission had a civilian stand right in front of the Reaper. I weighed up what would happen if I didn't shoot. and shot him. One less zombie, one less reaper and one less idiot to worry about next turn. Sathra
I once had a early-ish Terror mission against Sebs at night (at least I think it was night). ~31 kills from all the Reapers. 14 Reapers in total I think.
thothkins
Jeez. Who would have thought George Romero would have defected?
Assoonasitis
Yo, GJ, how hard is it to have friendly AI recognize when it's in your line of fire and avoid being there?
Shima
Yeah I hate it when civilians stand in my line of fire. Once on a terror mission one of friendly soldiers decided that the best spot to rotate on for a few turns is right in front of my sniper, block him from shooting and force him to move and get penalties to accuracy. Or when they decide it's best to shoot aliens with LMG through xenonauts soldiers. Because nothing says better "thanks for helping us defending this terrorized city" than filling your back with bullets. Now I just try to avoid them the best I can. Jean-Luc
This thread should've been titled "Civilians still buddhist".
Assoonasitis
No. Buddhist civilians wouldn't get in the way on account of being completely in the moment and thus perfectly situationally aware.
