windex
Probably this has already been discussed but do you have plans to make the ocean blue? That black background is quite dismal after a while. The maps are very well done; accurate and realistic like from a satellite but I personally don't care for the black ocean. I realize this is like a last touch or refinement that there are certainly more important things to worry about with the game( namely crash bugs ) but in the end I think an aquamarine color for the ocean( greenish-blueish )would be much nicer. thothkins
The new UI should make it something like this:- A close up is this:- If you can't wait, there's always the Blue Ocean Mods Here Edited February 16, 2013 by thothkins
windex
Oh, boy! I just noticed after writing this question that you have a post with pictures entitled "new geoscape UI preview" Which shows you are already working on what I asked for in this post. sorry for not noticing
thothkins
So, what do you think of the new one?
windex
Thanks, thothkins, for putting that up. Yeah that looks much better. But what about a lighter color and like http://www.wallcoo.net/nature/sz_216_hawaii_sky_and_sea_aquamarine_1920x1200/images/Aquamarine_color_of_sea_water_in_Hawaii_JY083_350A.jpg Not with the bubbles but with those two tones of blue in that picture Edited February 16, 2013 by windex

erutan
just guessing by the title, but only very clear/shallow water is nice and aquamarine, and that'd be lost if you're looking at an ocean from earth orbit as the vast majority of the ocean is a lot deeper. thothkins
this sort of thing?
erutan
I was thinking more like but looking up at the sun through clear water has a similarish effect. That water you had shown looks like it's in some tropical bay (clear and relatively placid). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquamarine_(color)
thothkins
but your pic doesn't have bubbles... although it's a much nicer picture. In fact it's so nice I've been staring at it for the last 20 seconds now. >sigh< So tranquil. So inviting. I'd give it half an hour before I'm completely bored. Chris
Hmm, only the dev team are meant to be able to post in here. Looks like I need to tinker with the settings. In the meantime, moving this to general suggestions!
