I had a cold (or something that looked like it) something like 3 weeks ago. Even after all the other symptoms subsided I continued coughing for like 2 weeks but I have a history of that. I blame chem trails and Muricans being in cahoots with the NWO.

Best to raise the price to 100$ and then sell it at an 80% discount, it'd sell like crazy. Also remove female soldiers, soviet weapons and t4 weapons from the game and release them later one by one as "free" dlc. Gamers would idolize you.

FPS games are too indie and underground these days. It's gonna be Angrynauts, an iOS exclusive.

Well, there's Legends of Eisenwald. It has party based tactical combat similar to Disciples but with more characters and each unit has its own inventory and skill tree. There's also some form of castle management. You move around like in King's Bounty. Not exactly X-Com like gameplay but fairly close in general principle.

X2 wasn't confirmed, just speculated. Chris only mentioned that they were testing some new aiming/shooting system for a future turn based game.

I like the concept but the game looks really unappealing to me (though it's an early build). And I don't mean to be shallow but the graphics look really bad. Not because they're "old school" but simply because they look bad, sometimes it just doesn't click. Plus I have a particular dislike for the full top down view of characters.

Oooh, that's so oppressive. Will try after release, hope it continues to get tweaked.

Will the Flamethrower return?

...all burns. -
My unpaid shilling continues: Dreadnought , a steampunk/industrial leader class. Sorcerer, non-elemental wizard/summoner, has access to some nasty Cthulhu-esque stuff. A fairly long gameplay vid: [video=youtube;h941vL41zTc] It's mostly in German but the game dev speaks in English and things are pretty self-explanatory anyway.

I'm in! I was once a secret organization like you but then I took an alien invasion to the funding regions.

Praetors, Wraiths, and other things about ground combat
Jean-Luc replied to Mooton's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
I guess X-Com "solved" some of this simply because it didn't have tiers of the same alien type so a rookie could always be a threat with the right weapon. Likewise a lowly sectoid wtih a plasma rifle could down your power armoured soldier with one or two shots. The drawback is that armour wasn't much help since everything had to be "normalized" up until the late game. Everything was susceptible to everything at all times. Also can't help but think if opening doors should cause reaction fire. It would encourage the use of shields, high reaction weapons and add some risk to it but also remove the exploit and the "unrealistic" TU cost of opening/closing doors. Of course aliens would need to be toned down as well. -

I never even realized the OG aliens had limited ammo. I knew they could drop their guns and such but aside from rare situations I assumed they could fire indefinitely. -
Androns; is there a way to not just die to them?

Eh, I don't even remember. Where's Beagle btw? -
Empire's alright. It's stable now (for me at least) and does the shooty stuff well enough on a large world map which puts it above Napoleon for me. Not sure how wise it is to play it unmodded but it works. Like Commisar said, Fall of the Samurai is a good, more recent alternative if you want gunpowder warfare and don't mind the Japanese theme and small scope (geographically speaking).

Aircombat in the latest version.

Best tip would probably be to wait for the next build. -
Hicks, I'm gonna nuke your friends and places of work/study. It's the only way to make sure you stay on the forum.

Sorry, it's not me doing the LP. Contacting the guy might help but the LP's a few months old. Not sure if I'd even want that fixed. It's nice to know that lizardmen can also achieve Nirvana.

Just ran into this. Dex, a 2D side scrolling cyberpunk rpg. And it really is an rpg. XP, skills, different equipment, stealth, hacking, cyberspace, dialogues, implants, multiple solutions, it's all there. It's not as indepth as in full fledged rpgs but the point is that's it's not merely a 2D shooter with a cyberpunk coating. Yes but the AAA classification is based on budget and production value (in the high 8 or 9 digit development price range), not one's personal enjoyment. Makes the devs seem a bit dishonest in that regard but maybe they have their own definition of what AAA means or whatever.
