  1. I think the headlights idea on the vehicles would be nice, if not giving soldiers the option of an offhand powerful flashlight. Not that I use vehicles, but it seems like the headlights could be fun.
  2. Though it brings up something else that could be removed on the "Easy" difficulty for increased accessibility to the game.
  3. Yeah, they are clearly still doing those 360 sweeps during the players turn at the moment, though. No eyes in the back of the head here, no sir.
  4. What happened to armor piercing rockets? I miss using those to clear holes in buildings etc
  5. Ah, probably similar to the bug I just posted. It doesn't seem to just be range, but angle as well. Had one turn 90 degrees in the first round to shoot my first guy coming out of the ship.
  6. Second combat or so since swapping to Steam, noticed the following. As soon as I step out of the ship, the alien turns 90 degrees and shoots me. I have checked around the area and found nothing else that could have been giving him shared FoV on my soldier. If, as it seems, the aliens have much wider fields of view than we do, then attempting to flank or really a lot of maneuvers will be.... less worthwhile. Personally I think they should only react to their fields of view, which I imagine in most cases would be similar to our soldiers. Would make sneaking around more viable. And shotguns, at that.
  7. Sounds like a great idea for the easier difficulty levels, if it can be implemented that way.
  8. On the other hand, on easier modes you could have the local forces beef up on failure with the attitude of "well we can't rely on anyone else, that's for sure" ;p
  9. Another possibility for balance, perhaps the equipment required to allow a human to use psy powers requires more oomph than can be generated by something you can carry. Thus you need any soldier to "plug in" to their landing craft. Maybe a chinook can support only one Psy person with it's generator, future craft maybe 2 or 3? You could also limit the radius such people could move from the craft in addition to the number.
  10. Hmm, most of my soldiers DO carry a rocket launcher with... lets see, loaded 1, plus what is it, 4 or 5 for the backpack, plus two for the belt... gotta be at least 6. That bug with the smoke? Yeah.... that owned me pretty fast
  11. Flatulence in a strong breeze could be a useful weapon, given some of the flatulence I have encountered....
  12. Sounds to me like you guys and Chris might be talking about two different things. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinking the complaint is about situation A and Chris was talking about B A OX OXA Lower X shoots alien, hits soldier X (90 degree shot) up above, or even as one person posted, turns 180 degrees and shoots the ground, presenting his back to A. B OOOX OOXA Lower X shoots at A, but turns 45 degrees and shoots at X And if you are both talking about situation B, could we at least not be penalized a TU for turning? The worst part is, just turning your head can trigger reaction fire. (or could in 17.91)
  13. Exact same thing, right smack at the edge of mexico I think. Then I shot one down and crashed in the smoke.
