Solver
Sometimes, but never on a soldier's first mission as far as I can see, a rocket trooper becomes useless. The soldier begins the mission with the rocket launcher showing 0/1 ammo, as if it needs a reload. However, it is impossible to reload either as usual or by dragging a rocket onto the launcher, this is as the soldier is normally equipped with extra rockets in the backpack. No idea so far what triggers the bug.
Gauddlike
Could it be related to if the rocket launcher was loaded at the end of the previous mission? If you have a game saved near the end of a mission you could try both. Or better yet take two rocket launchers along and try one each way and see what happens. Sathra
Also if its a bug with the new missiles. It might not be loading the new missiles (alenium for example) into the launcher.

Solver
Yeah, maybe it's related code-wise to the launcher ammo changes that support the new explosives, but to me this has happened both with regular and Alenium explosives so far. StellarRat
There is a bug on the quick reload button it uses too much TUs for reloading. Open the backpack and drag the rocket over the launcher. That uses less TUs. Also, make sure your soldiers have at least 42 TUs with armor, equipment, and ammo on before you leave the base. You need at least that many to fire and reload the biggest weapons. If they're too loaded down they won't be able to reload and sometimes won't be able to fire either. If you find yourself in that situation the only thing you can do is drop some items on the battlefield to get your TUs up.
silencer
There is another bug with Rocket Launcher - when in base I've switched to Stun Rockets - when returning to base HE rocket is loaded.

StellarRat
What happened to armor piercing rockets? I miss using those to clear holes in buildings etcI noticed they're gone too. I never used them though. They used to have incendiary rockets too. Those have been gone for a long time.
raziel1981
think there was some crash bugs related to them
Sathra
The Hypervelocity tag was removed due to accuracy calc bugs. With it gone AP rockets didn't have much going for them. At least, that's my thoughts on it.
