Unable to Breach UFO Fighter w/o heavy casualties..

Generally you use one soldier to open the door and then lob in flashbangs or fire machineguns at the aliens in the UFO to suppress them so they can't reaction fire, or you use a combat shield to draw the reaction fire before the rest of your team move.

Dont throw grenade with all ppl at door. Open door with one and throw grenade with someone from far or at least with seen less aliens.

Use shield/pistol or at least shotgun to avoid alien reactions.

Bring a rocket launcher to destroy them all from far.

I only have one slightly wounded soldier in this map and I need to remove the aliens from their ship but I can't seem to do it without getting at least one soldier killed.

If I were you, at this point I would just close the door and retreat to rearrange the troops.

Myself, I find it much safer to breach the doors first with a rocket or C4 (a high-TU soldier with a shield can even drop it in front of a door after setting a timer and escape). Then I can either safely gas the aliens (if stun rocket is available), rocket the inside to destroy some cover and shoot them with my sniper etc. That should limit their numbers enough for me to get inside.

You should use the well as cover for two of your men but maybe C4 the trees and bushes in front to empty the space.

Also, I cannot recommend shield-pistol soldiers enough. Before breaching, I usually try to arrange the space arround the UFO in such a way, that my sniper and machinegun/rocket specialist can operate safely from heavy cover and my rifle or shotgun soldier slowly encircle the UFO from both sides, always hiding behind crouched shield soldiers.

Obviously these are not the only tactics available. But just opening the door and assaulting the inside is extremely risky, especially if there is more than one alien. Even after succeding, your men will run out of TUs for reflex shots and will be killed by an alien rushing from the next room.

First, carefully arrange your team so you have a light machinegun set up (and behind cover if possible) to fire straight through the doors when they open. Have troops with shotguns, pistols, and flashbangs ready go from the sides of the doorway. Wait at least one turn everyone has full movement available. Next, have one of the side guys with a pistol or shotgun open the UFO door then either step back or charge in off to the side and take cover. Third the light machinegun fire a burst at the aliens standing near the doorway. This should suppress or kill most of them. Have one or two of you guys throw flashbangs at the aliens that aren't suppressed yet. Finally, have the rest of your guys charge in shotguns and pistols and kill the aliens. Even if you can't kill them all on the turn you breach the UFO you should be able to get in can take up covered positions to continue the fight. The main trick is to make sure the breaching action starts with your troops having their full movement allowances available as close to the hatch as possible and using suppression to prevent the aliens from reaction firing.

Just keep in mind that for larger UFOs (cruisers, etc...) the tactics are a little different. On those I general blow the doors with C4 and engage from outside before I even try to move inside the UFO. It destroys some internal equipment, but it's impossible to sweep a big UFO in one or two turns, so you have to approach it differently.

It's not cheating, we see it at many hollywood movies.. they even goes faster then bullets at some slow mos.. and i dont talk about marvel movies :)

By breaching an UFO this way, you will have casualties, sooner or later.

I always bring up to 3 machine gunners with my team, on the way on clearing the map they do pretty decent jobs, but they excel when it's about to breach the UFO itself. (Tactics differ with different types of UFO)

Use on shield guy to open the door, move him away (time for a prayer here), and then let loose the machine guns. Repeat until everything inside is dead. You can also bring two soldiers with a shotgun in their backpack and clear the UFO this way, after suppressing the enemy.

Or put someone behind good cover and let him draw all the reaction fire after opening a door, a pistol and a shield is quite good for that purpose. Later on you can simply smoke them out with stun gas grenades, except the pesky androns of course.

Time for a tactics change on your side, seriously!

I prefer sniping the aliens out, rather than wholesale destruction using MGs. Two snipers will do decent job of thinning the aliens inside, along with couple of flashbangs, will make the aliens easy picking.

Although my favorite method of storming the scouts is "dutch oven". Open the door. Lob in gas rocket and few gas grenades. After few turns, clean up what's left.

I used to use lots of gas/flashbangs but then I went up against a load of mechanised troops in a row, such a pain when you're not prepared..

Heavy machinegun in their faces is quite satisfying, and effective :)
