xcom
So i went to a ground combat with the Chinook and finished it. The Chinook starts to go to my base in the geoscape, but if i look in the base stores screen, i already have alien alloys, clips, etc...and already can sell them. Apparently this happens every time. I don´t think its by design.
winterwolves
There is no way your team could bring all the salvage back on their chinook anyway. Maybe there should be some kind of transportation delay, but I have no problem with it the way it is now.

Amiga4ever
I think its design bug. Maybe will be fixed. In UFO EU alien salvage appears when skyranger land in base. In xenonauts should be the same. For example - what happens when chinook will be shoot down by UFO on returning route to base? Stuff will be still available for research but how it possible? It should gone in chinook crash
Gauddlike
It sounds like a leftover issue from when the ground combat was linked in with the geoscape. It is not something that will get ignored and let through to release don't worry
Matthew
It's difficult to implement, so it will be added later.
xcom
ok, thanks
Sathra
Actually, as far as I know, any loot you get in EU and TFTD (TFTD I'm sure of) arrives in your base as soon as the mission finishes.
xcom
Ok, but thinking about the realistic side and also adding an additional difficulty to the more difficult levels would be very good IMO. For example, in Xenonauts when you transfer anything to another base, it has to go by plane, even if its another jet fighter (autonomy would not permit it to go directly). This plane can be shot down by an ufo, so the same could happen to the chinook. Also, thinking about the chinook not having space to carry all the "loot", they could create another plane or helicopter specially for that, getting loot after the combat is over. That could be shot down too. Also if an alien has escaped in the combat, it could return to the crash site and then it would be advisable to bring a few soldiers in the vehicle that will get the loot. Just some ideas to bring more diversity to the game. A loot vehicle configuration could be saved (number of soldiers) just like the chinook and when the chinook leaves the combat, the game could launch the loot vehicle automatically if available from the nearest base. It would show in the geoscape, to be escorted or shot down (only in the hardest levels). Edited April 8, 2012 by xcom
Gorlom
The second "loot" plane/chopper from missions worries me. I definetly think that escaped aliens returning to bother that plane is a bad idea. I don't think it really adds anything. just sounds annoying imo. Would you need hangars for theese extra aircrafts? Transfer aircrafts beeing targeted could be interesting if there is a "safe" land/sea option that takes a bit longer but doesn't risk getting shot down. PS. xcom why is this in a bugg thread instead of in the suggestions forum?
xcom
It would need an extra hangar. You probably know that, but transfer aircrafts already get targeted. The thread started as what seemed a bug for me. Maybe all this at the end could be transfered to the suggestions forum, good idea. The idea is that in the hardest levels, you have to think about more details, annoying being cool.
winterwolves
I think just a time delay would be better, you know: while the courier brings it to your base door?
Gauddlike
Transport planes between your bases can already be targeted and destroyed as can interceptors and dropships. Remember in the final release the enemies are planned to come in larger waves rather than singly as they do at the moment, or as they did in x-com. That would be an awful lot of extra transports to launch and protect and a lot of added delays to the game while you waited for them to sweep up all of your crash sites.
