  4. I'm with Valok here: just get both. They are completely different to each other, as what Chris has described; I don't think a comparison makes any sense. EU is a modern re-imagining, whereas Xenonauts is

Have watched this sporadically for awhile, then it slid from under my radar. http://www.fray-game.com/en/weblog/ Basically a turn based PvP squad-level tactical competition, closest analogy I'm aware of is the XCOM: EU MP mode and Frozen Synapse, but solely online (I think?). Released early June, I think reading between the lines, that they had massive server/connection issues (don't quote me here, I've just briefly skimmed), which effectively broke the game and alienated the customers fast. http://www.fray-game.com/en/forum/topic/346/ The Forums (and the general lack of posts in the last couple of months) is a little frightening. Obviously a very / completely different game and 'infrastructure' to XCOM. Anyway, an interesting case study for those interested.

  10. Walls are definitely destructible, and fire once started, spreads rapidly, removing pathing options (except for one of the armour suits that is fireproof, or flyers). Perhaps its more a gameplay balancing issue, terror sites perhaps should be balanced to start a little later in the game, with perhaps some kind of re searchable upgrade to the Chinooks (e.g Hercules with longer range, but more expensive). Or, purchasable long-range fuel tanks for the Chinook from the get-go, that consume significant space (eg 4 or 6 slots). So you can respond to these far flung events, but with smaller numbers of troops in the early game. Later, if you decide to do the research and stump the cash, get a bigger transport that has the range and cargo space? Just ideas.
  13. -1 Just to be a devil's advocate, but not a big fan, sounds horribly RTS to me. Medic pack to stabilise a wounded/critical/bleeding team-mate is one thing, battlefield repairs on a vehicle mid-firefight is quite another. Only thing IRL in such a context that would make sense is fixing a flat tyre/unjamming weapon/resetting weapon computer. Unless alien tech is so advanced a 'support' person has a can of instant-spray armour fix....... Armour HP loss is a workshop job, otherwise I could see the tank/support combo being leveraged in an over the top recon role (push tank out, takes fire, pull back, repair, rinse and repeat.) Just sayin! ;D

  17. LOL Korval, unless I'm very wrong, ALL the tier 2 stuff is SOLELY window dressing for anyone who plays TF2. Haircut, pin, etc, all TF2 in-game content. Absolutely of no interest to me.....
