Dranak or anyone, don't suppose it possible to bullet point high level tips for air combat, or point me towards such a resource? (30 mins is a little too long for me unfortunately...) e.g. I didn't click that you could control the direction of evasive roll (the number of times the auto-roll goes the wrong way, and breaks missile lock is annoying)

Oh my god! That is a life saver! I've been trying to work out how to advance an assault shot-gunner down a UFO hallway safely behind a kneeling Shield/pistol guy. I figured kneeling he'd take out the shield guy with reaction fire, but standing, he seems to be unprotected by the shield (keeps getting hit by aliens in front). New tactic time!

G'day folks, I have just acquainted myself with the release build of Xenonauts (lets call it returning to the fold..), after spending some time here a year or two ago (then getting distracted by XCOM EU, Dead State and boardgames). Everyone seems to talk about using C4 to breach, but I've happily been using my LMG to destroy the door, which removes the need for the extra equipment/exposure of team members/etc. Then lob in some stun grenades. Why is C4 favoured? Solely to ensure elimination of any lurkers near the door (my sniper/rifleman always look after this after the LMG door shoot)? Note: The LMG method can of course be problematic when there is little cover for the squad outside the door, I'll admit.

Well I'll be damned! PS: 4 Classic Ironman attempts have obliterated me (especially the Portent mission), so just starting a Normal Ironman to get the mojo back.... Edit: though I have had "aiming Angles" turned on everytime, and reading about this in the EW forums suggest they heavily benefit high accuracy aliens such as Thin Men, who are VERY clearly my nemesis at the moment...

Ahh, I've found the best way to handle that is to put in the first name as '..' and last name as the nick say "Gnarly" That way in game where you only see rank and last name (which is the main area of interest), you see 'Rookie Gnarly", and in the Barracks you'll see "Rookie .. Gnarly"
