  1. fixed the problem its the ability to rotate the screen on XP i disabled it on the graphics control panel and the game opens normally now.
  2. Coincidentally, the last thing I did before checking to see if anyone had replied, was put my monitor on its side. The menus are still squished together though.
  3. IntelĀ® Q35 express chipset family My resolution is 1680x1050 I found another thread mentioning the same problem, and that thread mentioned yet another thread with an answer for it, but i could not find it.
  4. Version 18 playing on windows xp and the when I launch the game it loads up sideways and the mouse control is horrible. Any clues? The mouse is actually sideways as well lol.
  5. In the game I am playing right now I have one guy I named Andrei Orlavski who refuses to die and wins missions on his own. Mans a tank. Which is funny because I named him after watching the 3rd Universal Soldier movie which went straight to dvd. Was a beast in the movie too.
  6. but that was half the fun. weeding out those who deserved to live from those who deserved to die. I always loved having a guy with like 43 firing accuracy earn a special place in my heart by taking 3 shots to the head and then reaction firing to get a kill. Thats how you become the type of soldier I will risk every other soldier to save, and that was made the game so much fun.
  7. aww really.... just when I think the decision is made. What may I ask is UFO 2: Extraterrestrials?
  8. Xcom had so much for you to do, but Final Fantasy Tactics was epic. Its impossible to choose between the two and I still have to play through both every few years. At this point I am ecstatic to have found Xenonauts and cannot wait to play but I am excited for Xcom:EU because it will offer a new experience, and hopefully it doesnt suck.
  9. I have come to the conclusion I will be getting both games and playing X-Com:EU first, as it will be the experience I am less accustomed to and therefore more deserving of an open mind. Then regardless of how it turns out I will have Xenonauts to play for hours upon hours of fun.
  10. Alright so I found out yesterday Firaxis is making a new Xcom called Enemy Unkown that is supposed to be very close to basically the best game ever, 94's UFO Defense. So I become ecstatic, after figuring out how to download and setup the original and a few hours of that I started thinking about the choice of PC vs Console, which led me to do more research on the game, which led me to Xenonauts. Another Xcom: UFO Defense type game. SO my question is whats up with that? I am getting the impression that Xenonauts is going to be a very close replication of the original with a different story line and a bunch of different proper nouns. Firaxis's game seems to claim to be going for a replica while slighltly simplifying the game (only one base, 4-6 man teams, no time units, which they may be able to make work). I seem to be able to find more information on Xcom: Enemy Unknown though, so could you guys help me out and give me a detailed response comparing the two?
