First time impressions from an X-COM Veteran
Moonshine Fox replied to diebagger's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
Where's the +1 button when I need it? -
ATi and Linux are kind of like oil and water. They don't mix well
-
Yep. Been waiting for that update forever now, though.

I'm gonna be a bit of an arse and say I'm not entirely friends with the bosom. (No, not the size) The bosom looks "fake" insomuch as the cloth is basically body-tight. Shirts (especially military-wear) don't really look like that. Cloth doesn't behave like that either unless it's stretch-type cloth. I'd google around for pics to show what I mean, but I'm at work, and I believe surfing around for womens bosoms here would be slightly frowned upon.

I run Arch, whenever I feel like it on my desktop, and always on my server. Atm, I'm stuck with Windows 7 due to this damn addiction to gaming.

New Research screen UI for comment
Moonshine Fox replied to Chris's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
It already is. Under the "New UI" link. -
I find putting female soldiers in for the sole purpose of political correctness is stupid. Sorry, I do. The game depicts an age where there weren't many (any?) females in military service. Having females in there would just upset the immersion. I have nothing against women playing games or doing military service, and suggesting I do is offensive to my intellect. But if you'd make, say, a movie about the same age, you'd have male soldiers to keep the immersion.

This. Also, I pretty much loved the idea, but I know it didn't make it :'( -

Geoscape - Relations overlay
Moonshine Fox replied to Moonshine Fox's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
Yes, I agree. Having it update "live" would probably get a bit messy. Monthly would be fine. -
I'm not even backing (yet), and I'm seeding it permanently.

Yeah, noticed this now. Any "heavy" character with a nice batch of hitpoints will easily outlast the poison. My lizard evade-rogue will however not. He WILL die, because he's taking 6-10 damage per tick from the poison. The minotaur takes 1 per tick.

Xenonauts, AI War and now this. -
Path of Exile - Or "How Diablo 3 should have been"

This is ridiculus. Three cool games all have a lead dev named "Chris"? Seriously? -
...I didn't even consider that.As to my guys: They never die to a single spider. I could handle that fine by dodging, or even "tanking". But if I didn't antivenom (tried three times) the poisoned character would inevitably die. I ran two fighers at the front, with fairly crappy gear and it was my first group too, so my understanding of the mechanics were sketchy at best.

Geoscape - Relations overlay
Moonshine Fox replied to Moonshine Fox's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
In my short vision of it, it was a "realtime" thing, updated every month, together with the economy report. -
Correct. The torpedoes didn't work in air, so you could tail them in the air, but not actually attack.
