  1. With such an placement [only if it´s finished] you can wait very long or play half-finished full Price Products from an big and global Company [f. e. Need for Speed-Games] and his added Developers which I don´t wanna name. The other Alternative, which only get announced from some medium and small Companys [like Goldhawk, Chaos Concept, Paradox] is that you can Test the Game and if you are good could be a Freelancer / Modder. And sometimes you can Found the Game like here for the Xenonauts-Row. You have this 2 Options. The 3rd Alternative (which seperate in several Parts) won´t meet with your approval.
  2. I like the news for Xenonauts 2, more to test them soon. Esp. the Armor-Upgrade and new Oportunitys we get. Some Parts I knowed won´t work (like the 3 Planes in a Squadron to build up), others I miss from prevoius Beta-Testings (like special Missions on the Geoscape, Outposts and such).
  3. The Standard-Build isn´t updated to the latest Version (V.21 / V.22) atm. So you can play only older Parts of the Game, which are in some Parts obsolete / refited already. I suggest you wait for the V.23-Version instead and play then the Beta.
  4. OK, if you all have that Problems, then the best Advice I can give you is to wait for V.23-Beta. I have stopped Testing after reading that Problems so many times and wait for V.23 and hope that as well other similar Problems get solved then.
  5. That´s correct Kamehamehayes. That was a good Feature in good old X-Com to use it on both Sides later on. New XCOM implemented it too with more cool Stuff (PSI-Soldier with more Psionic Abilitys). Therefore you have limitations in many other Parts (Transports / Airforce-Fighters, Soldier-Configurations etc. etc. etc.). In UFO ET you have the Blocking Chance by a Anti-Psy-Helmet (2 Helmets in Sum; the first you get with the first PSI-Attack-Alien the second with the Main-Alien-Race with heavy PSI-Attacks) and in UFO 2 ET atm only an Helmet (or 2 Helmets) too to block PSI-Attacks. It´s good to restrict that PSI-Things for Humans on Defense and Healing to get it stable first for the Aliens, like the Devs from the UFO ET-Row are doing it. Therefore you have more Abilitys in other Parts, which is in the new XCOM-Games very very hard limited. If it works well in both Games (UFO ET-Row showed it already with UFO 1 ET Standard / Gold-Edition as well as the Basegame for UFO 2 ET "Fight for Mercury") and Xenonauts 2 get it stable too for the Aliens and the Defense for Humans, then first then we can think about the Attack-Abilitys for Humans in PSI. But that must have Limitations too, because not every Human have an high PSI-Level / Bravery-Level. Therefore we are Humans and in Dune too it took very very long to build up the Bene Gesserit with that Abilitys. Even in old X-Com / new XCOM not every soldier can be an PSI-Soldier. There are Tests too and there were very few of your Troopers that have had that abilitys.
  6. Bobit, I think Morale is a big Factor. It was in WW 1, WW 2 and all Wars Humankind had already. I suggest you play the new Sim U-Boat, then you see why Moral is so important. The older Games (old X-Com, Xenonauts 1 and UFO 1 ET) couldn´t implement it like new XCOM, Phoenix Point and Xenonauts 2 do it in both Parts [the Fighting-Part and Geoscape-Part]. We will see how Xenonauts 2 will implement this Feature and can then look how it´s direct rival, the UFO-ET-Row implement this Feature with the DLCs for UFO 2 ET and the Refits from UFO 1 ET as well as later UFO 2 ET. And then much later on how the Morale System in an XCOM 3+ will work after we get an Information. In the Games XCOM 1 / 2 incl. DLCs, Phoenix Point incl. DLCs the System is Hardcoded. And in the UFO-ET-Row too. Means if the Devs here bring it in, the Chance is more then 80% that this Feature is hardcoded that you can´t delete or change it. If we get there something to experiment it will be the Soldier-Features like in U-Boat / old X-Com / UFO 1 ET (Knocking out, give the other an Stimpack or Medkit-Thing like in old X-Com, an Stimulation Helmet or whatever in UFO 1 ET).
  7. @Chris and Dev-Team: Not only for Alenium Explosives is that Bug, it´s for the 2 other Upgrades (Plasma and Fusion or so) too. The short Version of that I copy here too from an other Part of the Forum with the same Problematic-Discussion. About that Problem I haven´t had played the Standard-Version [V.22.6] until I read it. With the Beta-Version it worked normal [V.22.5 / V.22.6] Tests. But I was only in V.22.5 up to come to Plasma-Missles / Torpedos.
  8. Chris meant originaly: "a soldier with 0 bravery takes about 3x the moral damage that a soldier with 100 bravery does" It´s only a writing Failure. All in all I like the December-Diray and the Announcements / Informations in there. And that Devs need Hollidays / a Pause time too is fully understandable like we others too. Hope the Team can enjoy it as good as possible.
  9. Have you used everything to build up Armors, Vehicles, Fighters, Upgrades etc? But your Capacity shows 2.580 and after make a total Numbers what is showable you have a use of 195 Capacity. Seems actually so that there get some Parts in the Storage shows missing, but you can use them in the Production line.
  10. Yes, that Problem existes since a longer Time and the Devs working on it with every Version. The more of that Reports they get with different Maps (Farm, Town, Terror, etc.), the better it can be solved and the Maps better upgraded / bugfixed and so on.
  11. Hmmm..... then the Devs have to look at it for the next Version they have in buildup already. Have you tried the expermental / legacy Version and workes it there? In my last expermental / legacy that upgrades worked.
  12. Embertizzer, never. So hard it sounds, but Bitcoins are the Worst Case you can have. They are more Devil about the most Deaths that did with exertion then a help. If they were a govermential controlled Payment like the Credits in Star Wars or in the Wing Commander-Series, then it were fully OK. But not like an uncontrolled Payment like it is now. Either Real Money like Dollar, Pound, Euros, Yen it is now or on govermential controlled World Wide official Payment of that. But not an outlaw currency. Normal Standard-Games which belongs all Gamers on Consoles, PC, Handheld etc. like the UFO ET-Series, Mechwarrior-Series, Xenonauts-Series have to come on wide Platforms (Steam, GoG, Blizzard, Microsoft Game-Store etc.). Such Games only for Epic is a NO GO! If they have special seperate Games which are a rarity or a Game-Row they produce exclusive then I would understand that. Like Blizzard it do with his Starcraft- Diablo- / WoW-Row.
  13. Like said, don´t think to make the Development much longer as it is atm with so Tertiary-Things. We all wanna (Devs, Founders / Betatesters) bring an excellent Open-Beta, which is the Early-Access-Version, to the Community. Let us bring in the already tested and Upgraded / Reworked / Refited Features in again as well as important missing Features to make the World Map / Base Management / Soldier Management and so on more interessting (like the Stress-System, Outposts, Missions and such) and all Gapfillers get closed. In an DLC we can then think about an Rework / Refit from Xenonauts 2 with missing secondary and some interessting tertiary Features coming in. The Concern about the Game is not here in the Forum and the Ideas here get discussed. It´s the Community on other Platforms (and to 95 % Steam), which isn´t ammused to wait much longer. That´s the Concern we have to think about. So the Main-Importance is to fill the Gaps (R & D, Info-Boxes etc.), implement the special Features / already testet Features for Missions, World Map, Management etc. and make Xenonauts Early-Access-Ready.
  14. You have the Choise to send your Soldiers to the Crash-Site or let the Staate / Country do it and get therefore Cash, Credits, Money. We all don´t know what the Devs have Refited / Reworked or Upgraded in the Stress-System, so we will see. The Devs already said, that UFO-Crashsites wanna be much lesser for your Troops (because of much higher Sitiations like light / heavy Terror-Missions, Base Attack- / Defense-Missions and Missions we don´t know yet). Short said: You have to use your Soldiers wisely. Not every Crashsite-Mission make sense about the new Enemys and more Secrets which get in the Game. For the Crashsite-UFOs are more enough Ideas to handle them. Atm. the Game is in the World-Map, Bases, Missions and so on not finished and we will get many tested Features in one or other Form back (Outposts, friendly Military-Bases or whatever) and the friendly Armys have to do that Side-Jobs for you and f. e. secure the Crash-Side and transport the UFO to an Xenonauts-Outpost, where it can be divided in its fragmentes again.
  15. Let you surprisse. What we know that the Game get several Endings, not just Win (Elemenate everything) or Loose (Humankind defeated).
  16. Have we already with more R & D more and different Landing Crafts. But maybe with DLC-Things later on there can be done Upgrades. First the Main-Game with the already testet and upgraded/ reworked / refited Features, Implementations and similar have to come on the Market, before the Steam-Community get like the Father of Queen Elisabeth I. And all know what he had done to his Wifes, Kids and so on.
  17. Kommandos we are not in old X-Com-Time anymore, where you hand´t had the Techonology, AI, Operating System etc. like today. Don´t be in the 30 to 40 Years Thinking, where old X-Com get done on an 8 or 16-Bit MS-Dos anymore. There the Devs hadn´t had the possibilitys like today. I personaly don´t think in that old Dimensions anymore. That old Dimensions you had up to the End 2ks, where you didn´t have better and complete new Alternatives. Like said in the Different Landing Craft-Threat, let come the Main-Game on the Market first. Then we can think over secondary / terteriy Things. Not for nothing the Devs from Chaos Concept (UFO ET-Row) make an complete Refit of Part 1 and Upgrade Part 2 with missing Features / Rework and Refit Part 2 with the already implemented Features. The same is Goldhawk doing with Xenonauts 2 instead making an 1:1 Copy of Part 1. The Devs from the 1980s to End 2k´s-Timeline hadn´t had an other chance as to make in 90% an 1:1 Copy and Test some implementable Features the Technology could give with 3D coming up in the Kidshoes and similar Technology-Upgrades. Some Games in that Time were good, others 08/15-Standard-Food.
  18. Hmm... very Strange. Is it only for the Torpedo or for the upgraded Sidewinder too? Hadn´t had time to test it myself in the atm Main-Version, but in the Beta-Version it worked.
  19. We will see. Everything is in Beta-Status and can switch very quickly. Maybe we get small / medium special Bases as the Outposts we tested already, Bases like in Phoenix Point, buyable Outposts in different Sizes like in X-COM Apocalypse or an complete new Concept. The only thing I can´t see anymore is the old Base-Buildup where you have to pay 1.000.000 Credits only for Ground and then slowly build up your Base step by step for another 5.000.000 to 6.000.000 Credits. We all don´t know that and have to be patient with drinking Tea.
  20. We will see what happens. Like said We can give Suggestions and the Devs decide what is possible and what not. In many Games like the new Mechwarrior we got with the 2 DLCs many Surprisses. Mostly the Devs can´t bring in such elements in the Main-Game and bring in it later with an DLC about several Reasons. The Main Reasons are: major Jobsisites which have to be done which we Test, Upgrade, Rework and Refit already. Everything else we discuss here is Secondary and Tertiary. After the Groundbase is stable, fully functionally and playable, then first then come in Secondary and Tertiary-Parts. Some in the Base-Game others with DLCs.
  21. Yes Open X-Com is nice, but it don´t decive the Problems the old X-COM Row have. The same deems for other Strategy-Games in the 1990 and 2000-Decades. Either the Games were to complex [f. e. old X-Com: there you had to perform 100 % correctly in it´s Research-Tree and if you did only 99% you lost the Game / in other Games there was the Management or Whatver]. The other extreme were that the AI cheated a lot [f. e. the Command & Conquer-Series or Dune-Series]. Some will now come and say, but there are Refits of this Games or Tools to make them Playable on new Systems again with Bugfixes, Reworks and so on. Yes, that´s true, but sadly both Extremes aren´t solved, dosen´t matter what have been done so far. The 1990 and 2000-Decade Games still have their original Extremes. The Alcove-Games, which try to solve the both above announced Extremes are very rare. Thats the UFO-ET-Row, Hearts of Iron 4, Stellaris, Xenonauts 2, Battletech, old Wing Commander-Row, old Privateer-Row and complete new Refits of Existing Games (like f. e. the new XCOM-Row, upcomming in Refit KotoR-Row and the Mafia-Row). Sadly some big Game-Companys and much more important Players don´t see the or wanna see the done Failures in the Past (most big Companys begunn that Failures in the beginning 2k-Decade and never changed that in the 201x / 202x-Decade). And I know many of that Failures in more then 30 Years of Gaming on the C64/C128, some Consoles and first PCs up to today (the today on PC with a +). What the Lockers in the Transport belongs: the only Feature I liked was that you get Reserves in the Level-Beginnings (if they were big Missions) in the first 2 X-COM-Games (Enemy Unknown / Terror from the Deep) as well as the upgrade Ammonation-Test in the 3rd X-COM-Game (Apocalypse). An new Test about that was getting in with Phoenix Point, if you have your APC with you. Maybe we will get such or similar Backback-Elements in Xenonauts 2 and the UFO-ET-Refits. The second Thing is absolutely clear in the UFO-ET-Row [testable in UFO 2 ET].
  22. In January the Devs will bring out Closed-Beta V.23 (if I have the Version Number correctly in Mind) with already tested and refited Features as well as more Gapfillers (esp. in R & D). If there all goes well and more Gapfillers come for V.24 in Februrary / March then I think after the Closed-Beta there it will be the first Open-Beta-Version (V.24). But therefore much Water runs down the Rhine, Atlantic etc. Means: Everything can happen and we don´t know how good and much more Important Stable the next Versions are.
  23. Therefore I said already ATM = at the Moment. We all don´t know what the Devs are implementing from already Tested Features in Version 23, 24 etc. again as well as complete new untested Features to make the Game more interessting for the Storyline and so on. What we know already is that the Stress-System and Panic-System come back after an long Refit.
  24. I haven´t spoken from new XCOM, which bases on an complete new Concept, you have correctly identified. I told about Xenonauts 2, UFO-ET-Series, Phoenix Point and Fan-Projects, which base on the 30-Year old Concept with a lot useable new and important Possibilitys / Technologys for Refits, Reworks, Upgrades etc. without destroying the 30 Year old Game-Base. The Ground-Base for all new Games of that Gerne is the Groundwork over 30 Years ago. On that Groundwork the UFO ET-Series, Phoenix Point, Xeononauts 2 and many Fan-Projects are based. Then they Refit it with the newest Possibilitys [upgradeable Armor, Vehicles, Fighters, Transports, Base Structures etc. etc. etc.] on the newest Technology [Graphics, Sound, Windows 10 etc.], which weren´t possible to about 12 Years ago [2008]. If the old Devs from Microprose (which have made the old X-Com-Row) could use the Possibilitys as well as Technologys which we have since about 10 or 12 Years they would Refit all of their Games to the newest Standard like Goldhawk-Devs and Chaos Concept-Devs are doing with their Games on that 30 Year-Game-Base to hold the old Gamers and get the Game attractive to new Gamers. Better it can´t be explained in short.
  25. I know the Programm / Website "Open X-Com". And about nostalgic I play occassional X-Com Enemy Unknown and X-Com Terror from the Deep with the Open X-Com-Game-Abilitys. Naturaly X-Com Interceptor and X-Com Apocalypse too. Sadly as Fan from the Original the 3 more Storyline-Games never were born (X-Com Genesis, X-Com Alliance and X-Com Colonisatzion). I find it good, that the UFO-ET-Row, Phoenix Point and the Xenonauts-Row put in the best Elements from the game basement Complex from 30 Years ago. That´s the Base-Management, R & D Management, Equipment- & Soldier-Management, Storyline as well as in the Ground-Structure from the Standard-Missions (like Recovery, Terror, Interception) which give still the Feeling from the 1990´s-Original. What the Devs from Chaos Concept (UFO-ET-Row), Goldhawk (Xenonauts-Row), Snapshot Games (Phoenix Point) and Fan-Developers in the last 17 or 18 Years changed without to destroy the original-Feeling were that they put in new Possibilitys / Technologys to Rework and Upgrade the best Features from the 1990´s-Originals and make them useable for a complete new Generation of Players. What the new Games are give are complete Differnt Storylines to the Player. 1. The UFO ET-Row: Humankind can´t hold Earth and have to flee to Esperanza. After a hard fight there Humanity have the Chance to give the Aliens a big Kickback as well as reconquest Earth (UFO 2 ET = Earth / UFO 1 ET = Esperanza with Reconquest Earth at the End). There are Features integrated, which get missing in Xenonauts 2 [f. e. upgraded Ammo for existing Firearms as well as Energy-Weapons (Sidenote: that was Testet in X-COM Apocalypse, but get never used again for more then 20 / 25 Years), movable Bases and more] 2. Phoenix Point: Humankind have to (like Corona) fight an Virus, which changes our Homeworld and the Vegetation / Humans / Animals etc. The remaining indepented Phoenix Point Organisation can do that with one of the 3 big Enclaves or complete seperate with many Side-Quest-Storylines from the DLCs and since the last DLC with more Action too [Airfights with all Elements all Games of that Gerne have] 3. Xenonauts-Row: Humankind fights an Alien-Invasion and can evtl. Stop it. Differences to the Originals and UFO ET-Row is that you have more Possibilitys / Technologys for everything in fully WIP Xenonauts 2 incl. more Features we don´t let us dream yet. Xenonauts 1 was an nice 1:1 Copy from the 30 Year-Base-Original with all Weaknesses and Strenghes. 4. old X-COM-Row [Hypothetically]: That Microprose would have done too, if they had the Chance for the Originals. The Original-Storyline wouldn´t get touched, but the Games would have get big Refits in all Parts to make them 64-Bit-Ready and Windows 10 / 11 suitable. And one more Point, the Storyline wasn´t finished. Like said: 3 more Games were in Production or in finished Planing Status. An more radical Step is going Firaxis with the new XCOM-Row. That´s fully OK and give more Possibilitys / Features for the Game-Row-Development. They go an other Storylineway, make more Vids, give Storybooks (atm 3 out) and so on. What the Devs of this Games (esp. Firaxis, Chaos Concept, Goldhawk and Snapshot) don´t do this days is implementing Data-Scrap and unnessecarry Things. Like an Tranpsort with over 80 Soldiers, not upgradeable Weapons / Ammo, no Informations about your In-Game-Status (like in the old X-Com Games) and something like this. The new Games give you Informations and Oportunitys. That was the first Time comming up in the UFO-After-Row and get integrated in the new Games [in Refit UFO ET-Row, new XCOM-Row, Phoenix Point and Xenonauts 2], which is a very good Feature. That´s the big difference to the old Games. In the 1980 / 1990s up to Mid / End 2k the Player had only 2 Oportunitys: a) Fight to the End (all In incl. Founds) or b) Loose. You hadn´t any Informations how good or bad you are and the chance were about 60% to loose, dosen´t matter what you did about the complete missing Informations the new Games are giving you today. Sadly there is to settle in Xenonauts 1 and UFO 1 ET Standard- / Gold-Edition too, with a small difference. There you know how good or bad you are ingame. That´s why I´m so harsh about People which are still thinking like before 30, 40 or longer Past Years. They didn´t see the Oportunitys that this Gerne / other Gernes have today and can make the Originals with new Storylines (which are very important) much better.
