  1. Imo it should pause when over land again. I thought it was going to automaticly engage or something so i hit 4th speed and got surprised when i had to manually click and engage.. my aircraft didnt manage to catch up in time so i lost that ufo.
  2. Was the original poster asking if he could get the steam version for free if he had preordered the desura version or if he could buy both? I'm a bit confused by ADs answer.
  3. I'm hopeing the X-com base will be located in lincons head in Mount Rushmore.
  4. I was playing in debug mode fullscreen (forgot what resolution, think 1366x768). after playing 3 combat missions (Day night day in that order) I got into the 4th immidietly and tried to exit game inside ground combat. The game showed the main menu then froze. I was unable to close it alt tab or alt F4 and had to restart my computer. The mouse was still reesponsive but the menues didn't do anything.
  5. Nitpicking much? Because of the fixedd angle the world is 2D from my point of view. it might have 3 axis directions ingame but that doesnt change that it's 2D from my point of view. Hmm what should i say to make it clearer to you? 3D gameplay? ploygons? hmm you are certanly going to argue that the change in elevations make it 3 dimensions gameplay. And possibly going to argue that Xenonauts are useing polygons under the sprites or something. I think you are beeing silly but i do not se any smiley from you.
  6. Pretty nice. although id probably want to combine yours and Jean-lucs from the first page. no portraits and the indicators on the bottom left instead of a centralized location. To me it feels less like the gui is obstructing my view if it takes up the whole bottom area of the screen and the ground isn't visible behind it.
  7. It's not a remake, its a reimagening. It has already been mentioned a few times. and its up to each and everyone what they think. Personally I detest 3D games that doesnt need to be 3D. (baisicly anything that isnt first person and still 3D) If i didnt I would probably be ALOT more positive to this reimagening. There does seeem to be a bit of odd choises, but nothing gamebreaking and there are some cool feutures in there as well. Edit: Also please read back a bit in the thread instead of just jumping in and assuming what has been posted in the thread. You look like you are replying to posts on page 1 in the thread or something.
  8. Have you tried standing on the square and opening the inventory? your inventory should show stuff on the ground.
  9. His avatar looks like a Bjorn to me. Although it might be noted ive been playing Puzzle Agent 1 and 2 from telltale games when i say this. (not that the bjorn in that game looks anything like his avatar)

  12. Obviously it should be accurate down to the newborn babies each ingame month! Someone has alot of research to do! Hop to it!
  13. Sathra: maybe they watch startrek and decided to have an "eject the warp core" option that is easy, fast and doesnt destroy the whole ship or compromize it's integrety?
  14. Doesnt the Xenopedia pages remove some of the need of overintuitive unit designs? the F17 Condor says that it has special armor improvements for example explaing its comparably high armor.
  15. - The room you have designated controll room looks lika a loading/unloading garage to me. the big grey sqare seeems like a massive industrial roll up door. Also it seems very empty of command consoles. -Cant identify what the room you have designated as alien containment to be, (maybe a medbay?... yeah gonna go with medical bay.) but "Kanes speeach room" looks like a containment room inspired by independance day's area 51. (the dead aliens vault) -Can't spot the piano in your pianoroom but there dos seem to me to be a bar and a pool table so id guess its a recreational room. -The four rooms stacked ontop of each other? hmmm the squadsize is 4. living quarters? does the soldiers get individual rooms but the scientists and engineers doesnt get any? odd.
  16. I think Firaxis has to listen too much to investors and higher ups. I mean they claim to know perma death is a core part of the game but they only allow for a squadsize of four? Whats the point of permadeath then? Chris wasn't this game in the works already when the critizism for the FPS came? Then they would have invested too much in the mechanics to really have time to adjust for it.
  17. Do you want to discuss if its bad or good or? Hmm seems the image text does confirm that there is only one base? (aside from scattered hangars and radars...) Here I thought the side wiev was a wierd design choise. I'm going to be perplexed by alot of Firaxis choises i think.
  18. Personally I dont get whats wrong with Civ 5. i loved Civ 1 and 2. I didnt get to play civ 3 and what i did play of civ 4 i hated. What ive tried of Civ 5 is pretty fun. (although I've only played on the easiest and was forced to bulldoze one or 2 AIs because of botched diplomacy early on.)
  19. You might. I dont. Considering that you can buy more soldiers to fill in you can just rotate 2-3 sets through the hospital all the time.
  20. I'm not really worried about there being only one base. I think that is a bit of both clumsy phraseing and people reading too much into it. I would probably be more worried if it said "build your base" instead of "build a base", the latter could still mean multiple bases while I feel "your" would be much more limiting. But I AM dissapointed about the 3D battlescape. I've decided to hold my tongue and not comment any more about Firaxis game though.
  21. Except for the last one all those sounds like "TV adapted" damage rather then damage that would acctually be caused to the ship. There's no camera in the ship showing the crew throwing themselves left and right ans the cameraman shakes the camera to simulate takeing fire. The last one ok, but why not have the engineer wear the suit in the first palce?
  22. There might possibly be a mod like that for Xenonauts too. Not likely to be an included standard ingame feuture since a lot of players like the permanent death and think it lessens the game if you include a safe mode. Edit: and while i did usually revert to old saves in X-com the latest one i havent reloaded because of my solders dieing. and it has been kinda fun not obsessing over impossible situations, and simply dealing with the loss moveing on. I'm still playing cautiosly, but removing perma death would just make me rush in in a way that would make the game far less enjoyable.
