Assoonasitis
Would be better if loot from the ground combat would arrive in base along with the dropship rather than magically teleporting into it Okay, well you can do that, and the rest of us who've lost a transport while it's on the way home from a mission that had critical tech will continue to be able to beat the game. GizmoGomez
Yeah, Chris already said it's simpler to leave it the way it is. Besides, it really would suck if you lost your dropship on the way back and lost all your stuff.

Chris
I did answer this question in another thread yesterday, but appear to have lost it. If anyone knows where it is then please link it so Amorale can read my reasoning:)

Assoonasitis
Thanks for the link. I'd still welcome the option to chose from the way it appears via option, but i understand that it would be too bothering to implement for something so insignificant, so I'll just have to accept the way it is now (It's not like i have much of a choice anyway ). In a real-life situation what you're saying is completely accurate, but the problem, I feel, is that new alien tech is so intrinsically linked to game advancement. It's all well and good until the first corvette you've been able to shoot down and send a Charlie to in four months picks up the plasma cannon and precision plasma and then gets blasted down halfway home. And then that happens two more times and suddenly you're way behind in game tech because not only are you missing crucial research but the alien ticker has shot up from downing your transports.
