StellarRat
I reported this in 17.91 and it's still a problem. You simply cannot throw a grenade over anything as far as I can tell. To me it looks like it's using the same routine as ballistic weapons to determine the line of fire.
Matthew
Thanks for confirming it. It's in the bugtracker already, it should be fixed soon.
Chris
It's not a bug so much as a design issue, but it's something we'll want to rectify in the future.
Assoonasitis
It should be noted that precision rifles seem to have a similar issue in regards to any sort of cover at all. If an alien is standing next to a little pile of rocks, even, my precision rifleman is all, "I can't shoot there. No sir. There's a THING in the way." Sathra
Shots will still usually hit, but not sure if its overpenetration or shooting over the cover.
davijdruss
I hope the grenade issue is fixed soon. It is very frustrating having one of your soldiers behind bales of hay trying to throw a grenade to kill an alien behind another set of bales of hay only to watch the soldier blow up himself and/or destroy his own bales of hay because he could not throw the grenade over the cover he was hiding behind. Except in this circumstance he explodes himself because it's a grenade.
