Dragosh
Yes. It's something like December 2010. I think that Chris made the mistake of thinking this was going to be a easy game to make, when in fact it is one of the hardest games to make. Even the mighty Firaxis had to sacrifice 50% of the games content, were as Chris is attempting to add 110% of the games content. No easy job. But it is more then worth the wait
anzacloner
But it is more then worth the wait Couldn't agree more If Chris wasn't sticking with this game we would be doomed Cheers
Cane
Finally time for beta? This game is moving so slowly Was hoping the kickstarter would speed up things a bit more.
Freelandr
Finally time for beta? This game is moving so slowly Was hoping the kickstarter would speed up things a bit more. Ive only just joined the forums and xenonauts, how long have you guys/gals been waiting? Gauddlike
I pre ordered some time in 2010 (might have been November). Because of the access we have had to the builds though it doesn't really feel like a long time to me. The kickstarter wasn't really about speed increase it was more about quality, which I think it has achieved. I would much prefer a slow and steady approach opposed to getting the game out faster but with less features and more bugs. A small indie studio only has a small amount of resources so if you decrease the time spent on the game you also decrease the amount of work possible on it. You cannot just throw more money and people at it.
Nemeo
Chris faced major setbacks during the development of xenonauts but it seems he eventually managed to find a decent programmer, trapped him in his basement and put him into forced labour. Gauddlike
I have been wondering about the dedicated level designer talked about during the KS. Chris seems to be doing that work for himself at the moment. Maybe the level designer got lost on the way to work and hasn't been seen again? Nemeo
Now that you mention it, it seems that many people who worked on this project vanished somehow. Shouldn't we call the bobbies?
Gauddlike
And tell them members of the Xenonauts appear to have been abducted by aliens? After you
Freelandr
To hopefully quote Lucius Fox Let me get this straight. You think that your client one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is secretly a vigilante who spends his nights beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands and your plan is to blackmail this person? (Insert Significant Pause) Good luck. Edited April 12, 2013 by Freelandr
thothkins
But if Chris is Flatman, shouldn't he be able to solve the mystery of the missing Goldhawk staff, rather than perpetrate it?
Freelandr
But if Chris is Flatman, shouldn't he be able to solve the mystery of the missing Goldhawk staff, rather than perpetrate it? SilverGhost
I tryed 18.1 (w/o hotfix 2) and 17.9 (w/hotfix), v18.1 is unstable, it hangs up in the second ground mission . Am I alone with my problem?
thothkins
Is there a particular point in the 2nd mission where is hangs up? Is it the same mission you're reloading or is it any second mission?
SilverGhost
Is there a particular point in the 2nd mission where is hangs up? No. After 3-10 turns. Is it the same mission you're reloading or is it any second mission? I save game before mission, then send Chinook and.. hanggs after several turns . StellarRat
No. After 3-10 turns. I save game before mission, then send Chinook and.. hanggs after several turns . Put HF2 on. Lot of things can crash the game without that patch on. I don't know if you'll be able to use old saves though.
SilverGhost
Thank you, I'll try it! And hope to get BETA soon .
Sathra
Can use HF 1 Saves, but no v18.0 saves I think. If it keeps happening, is there a common enemy involved? Sebillians or Caesans, and is the ground mission one of the auto-generated ones?
SilverGhost
Auto-generated. Do "Debug" version from Desura contains HotFix 2? UPD I reinstall game and download hotfix 2. One hour stable gaming . Edited April 14, 2013 by SilverGhost UPD
Chris
We'll release an update on Thursday / Friday when I'm back at home. There's been some more bugfixes in the meantime, and the average person downloading from Desura but not checking the forums doesn't have access to HF2, so an update is required! SilverGhost
Last Alien problem. Large ship crashsite, desert. I killed all aliens, but.."Hidden movement" still active . Is it a bug or I missed alien somewhere? Edited April 19, 2013 by SilverGhost
radiorob
We are waiting for new update. The 18HF2 is very stable. Saves work perfect ( at last!, I have tested they again and again). I have played several hours ( to december, Xenonauts time), there are still little bugs, still xenopedia is not completed ( a lot of ### ), but this version is great progress in project! And now, there is possiblity to atack UFO`s ground bases!
Moonie
I always knew that when the team got serious with the bugs, that this game would get hot. Very hot.
