anotherdevil
Fair enough Chris, I'm glad it's all sorted, and sorry if it got out of hand somewhat! Back to constructiveness! =]
Moonie
I don't think Premium customers have anything to complain about. Look at me, I am reduced to having a old tarnished pre-order tin badge, but you don't catch me complaining.
admiral
Man I'm so torn about this! I desperately want to try the game, but I really don't want to spoil my fun for the final version, I want it all to be new and exciting How are you guys handling it? Sathra
I'm the kind of person that finds out everything I can before I play a game, so there's no difficulty for me. I'm enjoying the ride though!
Jean-Luc
Man I'm so torn about this! I desperately want to try the game, but I really don't want to spoil my fun for the final version, I want it all to be new and exciting How are you guys handling it? Yeah, I hate beta testing games. I see it as a big sacrifice to play a very buggy unfinished build that (for me) just spoils the fun and "newness" of the game after release. When I pre-ordered it definitely wasn't so I could beta test. Still, I might give in to temptation, haven't yet.

SandytheSlinger
Chris, If this is the right forum (I never can figure that piece out) playing 8.2, have a problem with targeting aliens with my guys in the ship with the alien. The site jumps all over, but sometimes never lands on the alien. And then of course, the bastard fries my buns... Please help! My buns are so over fried... Sathra
Yeah...the targetting can be a bit touchy sometimes. You do get used to it after a while though. Small steady movements till the alien turns green, or, failing that, blow it up.
TNoyce
As a programmer myself, I have really enjoyed participating and watching the game grow from concept, to implementation. Also, blowing up aliens is definitely a lot of fun.. Other than the fact the tank seems a bit more frail than I'd expect (I've seen it die after one laser shot), it's cool to get a bead on an alien, fire, and listen to them scream.. Sathra
That's because its not actually a tank . Its an armoured car. A really tough armoured car, but car nonetheless. Hopefully we do get tanks later on, so we can do proper 'armoured hammer' tactics.
anotherdevil
Also don't the aliens start with plasma guns? So they should be pretty powerful...
Chris
Hmm - the easiest way to target aliens is not to activate firemode and just mouseover them. The cursor jumps around a lot in firemode to allow you to target individual items of scenery, but mousing over any tile containing an alien should cause the cursor to default to the alien (previously it jumped around too much as it allowed you to also target the floor he was standing on etc.
Sathra
Sometimes it doesn't though. Its usually pretty good though, just has trouble in small rooms (like the inside of the Scout).

Can someone help this old guy out. thanks I presume that you have Desura and some iteration of Build V8 installed. That being the case, launch the client, open the Play tab, and look for Xenonauts Preorder. If updates are available for the game, there's an icon (two circling arrows, my memory tells) right beside its Status. Left-clicking on it commences the update process.
