  1. I can confirm this. I unlock quantum cryptography and watch ground attack UFOs zooming around doing nothing. They should at least land or something to unload their troops.
  2. Alien bases have leaders in them. So do battleships. ANY praetor is considered a leader.
  3. I reported this bug as well, GJ said he was looking at it.
  4. Chris said he did not want manufacturing to be a for-profit thing. You manufacture the equipment you need, nothing more.
  5. c4 the front door. Only risking 1 guy, the rest of the men can stay back in covered positions. Even if an alien does pop out and splash your c4 guy, worst case is he drops his c4 and it explodes at the same time as it would have if he would have placed it. Why waste TUs opening a door? Liberal use of explosives is always a solution.
  6. I approach fine without shields. Liberal use of flashbangs, machine gun fire do the trick nicely. Remember, if you are directly adjacent to cover, it does not count against you. So run your assault men directly up to their cover and shoot them over it. Then your guys will have cover from the aliens deeper in the UFO on the next turn.
  7. Hunter scout vehicles are useful in some situations. In night missions they can see their full distance because of headlights making them incredibly good scouts. On terror missions they give you durability, firepower, and cover straight off the ramp of the dropship, which is useful because you usually come under fire right away.
  8. Hm, try switching grenades chris, then back. I've gotten differences as high as 17 TUs. EDIT: If I can get a save I will post it.
  9. But then there is no way to get the region back before the end of the month. Once you hit 0 you are done, no matter if you shoot down 20 battleships over the same region in the same month. This is bound to confuse new players, If you want to keep it as it, I would put a tip somewhere in-game that explains this mechanic.
  10. Are you sure the spotting on the second floor thing isn't just because the soldiers are seeing through the windows? Remember, windows give a really wide LOS to people seeing through them.

  13. It is a known bug, chris said he was looking into it. I've encountered it twice so far, both times I've lost good men/women.
  14. Xenonauts is not a military, it is a civilian organization (granted, with highly trained military operators) that has to answer to the governments of the world. If that means sacrificing military capacity to play politics for increased funding, that is what it means. Even at that, would it not make greater sense to engage the aliens all over the planet instead of wiping them out completely in one area? You have to show the world that you are capable of defending them.
  15. By increasing the funding levels and hits by 30% you have also increased the variances between a good month and a bad month, how you do your first month is extremely RNG dependent. Doubling the base setup costs while only increasing funding levels by 30% left us a lot less money in the early game, which was already pretty tight. Granted, a 30% funding increase gives you an extra 629,000$ at the end of the month, but the 30% hike to funding hits from UFO events, and the halving of funds from ground mission/airstriking negates this. Throw this on top of the greater variance in funding hits over a period of time due to RNG... I'm not sure I am a fan of that randomness. EDIT: I stand by what I've said, some of the funding hits are too big. I just lost a THIRD of europe's funding in a single WAVE. It is supposed to be the first month FFS. There were 6 events, all taking away 15,000 funding each, out of a total of 300,000. I expect that on insane, not veteran. Going by this, it is possible (if unlikely) to lose a region in the first month. Which should NEVER happen IMO.
  16. I disagree. Strategically you must do the same thing every playthrough, expand as quick as possible for the most coverage while researching as fast as possible. How is that a bad thing? That is literally the only way to defend the planet, otherwise the aliens are just going to ignore your piddly 1 base and tear the planet to pieces around you. The challenge and variety as you say, is the research paths you take and how you react to when things do not go your way in the game. The game is so variable that you almost have to take a different research path every time, due to unavailability of some topics or pressing need for others.
  17. Veteran lol, depending on RNG the first month could be quiet and you only get -300,000.... or you can get absolutely slammed (my latest game I got -487,000, even after shooting down 5 UFOs).

  19. I agree, something is not right, I'm getting nets as high as -500,000 in month 1, and that was shooting down 5 UFOs. I lost half of the funding for russia AND both africas.
  20. The cost to throw a grenade as displayed in the quickslot menu is wrong. It cost me a soldier in my current playthrough.
  21. I see this bug has disappeared off of the "being worked on" list. It is not yet fixed, so am I correct in assuming that it will not be fixed by the main release? I have not heard anything either way, and would like some clarification.
  22. I cannot target this alien in a night mission. I even snuck a guy around to flank him and tried to blast him in the face with burst fire. It did nothing, my guy only got shot in the face for his troubles. When I try to put the cursor over the alien there is no target icon, and the alien spotted icon on the right hand side of the screen is yellow. Here is the save: [ATTACH]3881[/ATTACH] EDIT: Hm, that is weird, reloading seems to have fixed it. It was definitely there though, you can see kristensen in front of the alien bleeding.   23. It was a similar map. And yes, I got stuck on the bottom stair and could not proceed up to the second floor. Could you post your save?
