  1. Call me nit picky but why would an airstrike that kills all the civilians on the map give you more relations points then if you did the mission your self and say lost 2 desk clerks out of a possible 4? If anything airstrikes should give you a little less reputation, i.e. from the number of civilian lives lost. Even if symbolic, that little consolation to the player who just finished a 45 minute battle when they could have ended it in a click of a mouse, to know that they got a few extra relations points in addition to their loot, sound fair. And yeah a better UI for knowing how much raw materials are needed to build stuff and how much is in stock would really help show if there are problems in that area
  2. Looks like he's aiming at the fence and the drone is blocking, and seems if there is (big?)cover directly in the way of the target, the higher the chance to hit means the leaser the spread of the shot, hence more chance to hit the cover in this case... make any sense?
  3. fwiw I like the idea of limiting the weapons of the Condors, the idea of heavy and standard weapons mounts for canons sound pretty good to me, and I think as it is now all the interceptors and "snipers" are too similar in their respective fields because they all draw on the same weapon pools, the Corsair being the most obvious sour spot, if it had it's own heavy plasma canon mount, that would be sexy , not sure what kind of excuse we can make for the Condor not using plasma sidewinders tho... Is there any examples why this would be a bad idea (except for the coding hazards?) edit: Also like the ideas floating about about expanding the range of the point defences of the bigger alien ships, i.e cruisers and up, it's more elegant, but only if repair times are readjusted, one idea would be to bring armour back, and let the repairs/replacements of it be much faster, yes i know this is probably out of the scopes being so close to release and all.
  4. Yeah if it was possible, basing it on reaction would make sense, i.e. higher the reaction the less chance too shoot a dead alien
  5. Once you get Wine installed it's easy, but I forgot how how hard it was to install it, and I forgot how I did it, I think I used Macports, but to install Macports you have to install the the Xcode which is a free download from apple first.
  6. I run the PC version easily on my mac and it works great, just download wine. now the problem is getting the experimental versions from Steam, in a pinch you can use wine on the pc version of steam too to download the game too, but it's a pain and slow.
  7. weird it's as if the drone was crouched behind the wall, but it's a bug, while aiming better the chance to hit the cover in front of the drone increased more then the chance to hit it
  8. I find that sound tedious and happening too often myself
  9. If they fixed the bug that let's you heal your soldiers to max health with med packs, that would solve it right? you would have to rotate your personnels more, and injured would be sleeping in medbays
  10. I would settle for them just disappearing, if it's too hard to animate that, but that's in the works right? the not seing aliens you had los on last turn?
  11. Had a freeze from double clicking on a soldier in the barracks screen, using 1920x1200, restarted a new game and could double click on all of them to go to enventory screen. I know this isn't the time but any chance the sort order of the barracks screen could stick to what you have selected, each time you go back to it?
  12. fwiw, in v20.2, I have a saved game with the above problem, just wait for the chinook to return to base and click on the equipment screen then on unassigned. One soldier (Anaa Davis) is already selected, but if you select the other, it the game freezes. I tried assigning Anaa to the chinook via the personnel screen, it worked, but once back to equipment screen selecting her froze the game as well. http://rghost.net/49954379
  13. Interesting, I like player's decrease # 4 and think it should work for both sides (if you could surprise them), and AI increase #5-6 and I thought this , was already in
  14. The inability of going up to the 2nd floor of that building was also a problem on v19, the walking through walls might be new.
  15. I like the stasis pod idea, but wonder if it wouldn't be better to have civilians just follow the aliens passively like they are mind controlled, and teleport out at the end? As far as earlier mission rewards, I'm wondering if it would be too much work to implement a secondary detection method in the Geoscape, The thinking is there is a "grapevine" of relieved people happy that the Xenonauts came to help them out in their little lonely spot in the world, so they, a small region (likened to an invincible radar circle) would phone you if they saw a UFO. On the Geoscape the UFO would appear with bare information i.e. direction, and vanish almost immediately.
  16. I'm prety cool that the way it is now, the sniper riflle is the only one at 100%, wich makes a certain sense because it's a "precision" riffle, I would just increase the carbine with one more shot at current damage to raise it above 100% like the scatter HMGs which use brut force, and can do that much damage usually at point blank. edit: I would love it if the magazine physical sizes could be larger for more powerful guns in inventory, but right now it seems to be hardcoded?
  17. Reaper zombyfies my soldier through wall at red arrow, the screen shot is from next turn
  18. Man that smoke looks cool, i've never seen grass on fire, will have to start using rockets from now on
  19. i'm not crazy about an auto zoom, many times i'm zooming out to place a waypoint near the edges
  20. It was destroyed, would be nice if you were alerted in someway, i.e. auto paused or an audio cue like a klaxon or something
  21. Yeah agreed, it sounds like a huge bandage to strap on, it would mean that the world governments are hiding the truth of the Xenonauts existence and paying you lots of money to keep it hidden, and that kind of propaganda layer isn't even in the game. Not to mention that bombing the hell out of a salvageable craft means little benefits from recovered parts from the hulk
  22. Does he stay invisible no mater what direction he's facing? What armor is he wearing along with that combat shield? what build are you playing btw?
  23. Sounds normal to me, an alien bursts out of a door and gets filled with lead, the next alien to pop up will still trigger a reaction fire if your men still have TUs.
  24. When facing overwhelming odds such as taking out a scout in the GC in the 2nd week of September when you have a few Jackal armors at best, I try to sneak to the ship directly and then try to set up ambushes behind sparse cover an wait for the reinforcements to come in they tend to stay out of cover on their trek back. To trigger the AI to rush back to the ship, I've found just opening the door was enough. Ive tried twice, It worked nicely with Sebilians, but didn't with Caserians, on that mission all the guys in the ship were dead, so I wonder if that's why no one came back, or if it's just the Seb's AI which is different. Wouldn't call it an exploit, but it sure can make all the difference in a tough fight.
