  1. Quite a story. This is what makes a game great. When you have such vivid and fond memories. That said, as a general rule I don't save/load during battles and I can live with some losses. But if a mission goes catastrophicly bad I probably will reload.
  2. You shouldn't set trashcans on fire. We have the civilians for that.
  3. You're just jealos of the GK's powa! Our Grand Master bitc*slaps demons around and sets FIRE to the gardens of chaos gods. The Emprahs fry BURNS brighly within us. I am the Hammer, I am the edge of His Sword, I am the tip of His Spear, I am the mail about His Fist, I am the flight of His Arrows, I am the right hand of my Emperor, I am the instrument of His will, I am His Sword as He is my Armor, I am His Wrath and He is my Zeal, I am the Bane of His Foes and the Woes of Demonkind, Let us be His Shield, Let us speak His Word as He fuels the Fire of Devotion, Let us fight His Battles, as He fights the Battle at the end of time, And let us join Him there, for Duty ends not in Death, In Vengeance be true, In Valor be Strong, I am the Hammer, I am the Sword, I am the Spear, I am the Shield, I am the soldier at the End of Time.
  4. Brothers of the Eternal Flame! I take great pride in being a member of our esteemed order. Our task is never-ending and thankless, but we keep the flame eternal burning. Carry the Emperors will like a torch. With it banish the darkness!
  5. Yes. It is powered by the Flame Imperishible. None but Eru himself can eqstuinguish it.
  6. "Ad Victoriam lacus penetro posteriorii (tergum?)" To victory trough rear penetration.
  7. Why not simply have the civilan AI have a goal to GET TO DA CHOPPA! Or actually behind it. It's redicolous that people want direct control over civies at all, let alone by some new command system that would waste developer time.
  8. Fule tanks - make perfect sense. aircraft had those back then and have them now. Degradation - no, it doens't make sense. Well mantained craft can work reliably for DECADES. Pointelss, useless machanic with negligible impact. Better spend time and resources on something better.
  9. Just a civilian AI that sees them runnign away from aliens should be more than enough.
  10. And Major Carnage. And Seargent Slaughter. And Major Badass. And General Destruction. And Rear Admiral Penetrator.
  11. Seargent. Discipline that man for jumping around funny with a flamehrower. And giving me a hotfoot.
  12. That's how JA2 handles items on the floor. Hold a key (methinks it was Tab) and all are outlined and clearly visible. Excellent and simple system. Pwoerfull, but keeps the clutter to a minimum.
  13. I don't really havea problem with the current ranks. Not sure why they have to be shown in front of hte nick.....when you give your squaddies callsigns it starts sounding...weird. Cpl. Rage Maj. Pain Pvt. Hawkeye Pvt. Bumblebee seems silly.Maybe to put hte ranks behind the name in parenthes? Like: Rage (Pvt) Pain (Maj) Ok, I admiit... Major Pain, General Carnage and Private Balls does sound great.
  14. Some bio-creatures with the range and accuracy of a sniper? No way. That concept just sounds far too daft. Direct conversion of matter to energy and back? Not something I want to see either. Cheap, opens too many scintific (and plot) holes. With that said, a completley liner weapon/research progression is a horrible idea. It is in effect brainless and offesr no variety if the next weapon "tier" is better ine everything than the previous one.
  15. Good work Okim. That's exactly what I meant. Some of hte icons could use some work, but you got the gist of it. EDIT: Don't see stacking as easier OR more sensible. After all, do all bleeding wounds bleed the same? I for one never considered the JA2 or the X-com system too complicated
  16. Because being able to tell from a glance the status of all of your solider is easier then go looking for them and clicking/howering? Not that's anything wrong with the current interface. A status icon above a specific soldier slot/bar would be all the adition necessary. You cna already see the general health, morale and TU's. But I do find that portraits make em more easily identifiable than numbers.
  17. Here are two examples of such a UI: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/s8uUtvOVPXo/0.jpg http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-NB14I8Du044/T9Nw5PlNbCI/AAAAAAAAAL8/4WGIkzY8aFM/s1600/UFO-Battlescape.jpg The mini-portraits and info bars can be put at the top, or even ebtter - to the side of the screen.
  18. 1) the amount of bleeding from a wound should be variable. Not always 3 HP per turn. It could be 1 HP per turn. Or 2. 2) As for UI - I think a row of portraits with a health bar (and wound icons) would do wonders for both easy troop selection and for at-a-glance squad info 3) Bleeding being treated like in Jagged Alliance 2 sounds great. Bandaging doesn't restore HP, it takes care of wounds and stops bleeding, and bleeding units leave blood trails.
