Xenonauts is now crashing constantly

I've been running the game without much trouble - only one crash, I think, for about two days. Then suddenly today, the game started crashing constantly. I'm in a ground mission, and I'm able to do one or two turns, and then it crashes. This is consistant, it seems.

Is there any kind of dump or other debug information I can get, and pass on? Since it's a "stable" version, I'd guess that constant crashing is a less known problem?

And just now I loaded a save game to skip the combat mission, and after a while entered a new one. The crashes continue, it seems that it's not possible to play the tactical missions at all. Strange that this suddenly occurs.

Any additional information you might be able to give about the crash might help.

A few questions off the top of my head:

Has any new research been completed prior to the start of the crash?

Had you equipped any new gear recently?

Does the game crash when you move any particular soldier?

Is a vehicle involved?

Does it crash during your turn or the alien turn?

Are there any audio clues like a grenade explosion or vehicle movement sounds right before the crash?

What kind of mission is it (crash, terror etc)?

What tileset is the mission on?

Have you played successful missions on that same tileset previously?

Does a different tileset still have the same crash?

What enemies are you fighting?

Have you fought them before without the crash?

Do different enemies cause the same crash?

Have you tried validating your files through steam in case of corruption?

Have you tried starting a new game completely to see if the crash persists?
