You can transfer soldiers from the equip screen.

It would be better if you could do it from the personel screen. Like when you're selecting assigment, other bases might be added to the list.

Scientist and engineers - you cannot transfer those AFAIK.

Maybe if you fire them (or your base gets raided), however many boffins you lost could be represented by a negative integer in parenthesis on the hiring window to indicate that you still have that many on payroll for the rest of the month.

So...what your saying has the exact same effect, why not have the ability move scientists in the game if you want? And not have to worry about your timing? In reality, if your technicians and scientists were with you for a while, they would be used to the environment and you'd want teams to stay together.

Hiring and re-hiring them seems like an awkward solution to me.

I agree with them being transferred too. Firing them just to avoid paying their salaries seems like an exploit. But more importantly, what about their little fictional families?

You've just left them all broke after they have worked a huge amount of hours helping to save the planet.

Perhaps the aliens have invaded to prevent this brand of capitalism infecting the galaxy :)
