Ol' Stinky
As per the title. It's meant to be a subtle way of pointing out that the poor xenonaut isn't in good shape, without being something obnoxious like a heavily red tinted screen. StellarRat
I would find that very annoying in anything but a role playing game where you only controlled one guy. I know they did that in JA2 and I didn't like it. However, I would be opposed to a warning that one of your guys was critical and needed first aid NOW. Something in addition the "so so is losing blood message". Just as a reminder.
GizmoGomez
Disagree; if you don't notice your soldier's nearly dead, that's your own fault for not being attentive.

Yeah, but sometimes you have other things to take care of the turn it happens and might not notice how bad things are right away. Besides, IRL your guys would be calling for a medic or something. An additional, so and so is critical message wouldn't be so bad. Either way, I don't want a flipping heart beat track playing. That would drive me up a wall. GizmoGomez
Well, it's a TBS, not a RTS. You've got all the time in the world to assess the situation before and after each and every event. That being said, a notification (that can be turned off in the options menu) wouldn't be a bad idea.

Ishantil
How about just an animated EKG in red across the soldier's portrait?
Zekram Bogg
What about just adding some battle chatter to battles? Like, during turns there are random chances of your soldiers just talking to each other, based on their statuses, and you get little text strings on the bottom of the screen of what they're saying. If one of them is injured past certain percentages, then they're calling for medical assistance, or another one will tell them they need to get patched up or something.
