need advice on getting into the late game

I haven't had a lot of time to play with the beta candidate, but I keep running into missions where some aliens are not accessible on 2nd floors of ships. I really want to try out some of the later game stuff, so how have you guys been dealing with this issue while playing?

I haven't gotten any big ships yet, but I'm pretty sure there are teleporters to get you to the second floor.

teleporters aren't working for me in the landing ships. But maybe they do in other ships? I'll try this out, I was worried that maybe some vital research component from landing ships might be holding me up.

Oddly, they work for me in the bigger ships. Cruisers for sure, not sure about landing ships though since all the aliens ran outside (or shot eachother).

The teleporters dont work for me ither. What i do is blowing a hole in the sealing with a rpg then loobing grenades up to the second floor.
