At this point I don't even know if this problem is KNOWN, you see? I have tried poking at wineskin, but unfortunately, I was unable to figure it out. In your July 23th post you said that you'd do that by yourself and post a link to it. I'm still interested in that. Could you please do that for me? I mean, the v19 Stable build has just been finished, basically, and should be going to the porters to be made to work in OS X and Linux. As for the wineskin, I never got it to upload properly; something stupid about access denied and whatnot. I've tried; maybe I'll figure out what files are being stupid someday. If I do, I'll upload it. It's really simple to make one, though. Just download wineskin winery, and make a new wineskin. No fiddling around with settings, nothing. erutan Posted September 16, 2013 Share Posted September 16, 2013 The only "tricky" part is using the right engine: "I had a weird text rendering bug before, but switching to WS8Wine1.2.3 for my engine solved it. valsolo Posted September 26, 2013 Share Posted September 26, 2013 I get constant random CTD (crash to desktop) with some wine errors. I'm running the v19 on 10.8.5. I bought the game off Desura, downloaded the 4GB dmg, installed it, played quite a lot... then all of a sudden I keep getting crashes all the time. Should I do some Wine customization? [/sarcasm] Instead of giving attitude, maybe you could try to be helpful and explain exactly what's happening? "Ground combat is still not loading" is kinda vague, know what I mean? @valsolo: I would recommend downloading the Windows version and putting it into a wineskin yourself. I've never had any problems with the windows version running in a wineskin I made, so maybe it's an issue with the porter? I dunno. I've tried to upload an empty wineskin before, but for whatever reason it's not let me (something about permission errors and whatnot). But, anyway, it's not difficult, just google "make a wineskin" and I'm sure there's a guide to make one somewhere. Don't worry about changing or customizing the wineskin, it should run just fine without tweaking it. The game runs fine when I'm on the geoscape, but once I go to a crash site, the game seems to slowly die. I receive a subtle hint where the Xenonauts pictures will bug out or completely disappear on their inventory menu's. Also, sometimes the hidden movement photo will not load during the Aliens turn, leaving a giant black square instead. Eventually the game will then crash, with a pop up saying it's run into a serious issue and must close. "Ground combat is still not loading" is kinda vague, know what I mean? I had given all details in my first post in this very thread three months ago. And since then, I hadn't received a single reply from developers indicating that they are in any way interested in fixing my problem. No "we can't repro", no "by design, won't fix", no "will be fixed in v.NN", nothing. Being polite and writing a bug report in a pinned "Mac bug reports" thread on an official Xenonauts forum didn't work, you see? BGM still plays and I can move my mouse cursor, but the combat doesn't load. I've waited for it as long as 15 minutes. CPU load for Xenonauts process is 0%. Everything else apart from that -- starting the game, base screens, aerial combat -- seems to work just fine. My machine is MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012, OSX 10.8.5. I have this problem since v18. Correction: I'm not saying that this problem started to appear at v18. v18 was the first version I've tried, and the bug was there. I have, of course, clicked that screen many times. I haven't tried enabling/disabling any in-game options, I was playing on default ones. Second, I installed the V19Stable on my MBP 13" Retina early 2013 model. It starts fine, first time run it had to calibrate or something as it took about 3-5 mins to start but after that no issues. I'm just going to share a crash report with you. I can't post the log but I can share when the crash happens and what might be causing this. It happens when I finish a ground mission or when new UFO's are detected. I believe it might be the event manager running in the background or the autosave code that causes this. As this does not happen 100% of the times I figure there has to be some specific conditions in the game engine running at that point. However, it is more likely to happen when I finish a ground mission. Hope this helps, I'll try to make logs next time, I'm turning on the logging again! Frans1982 Posted November 14, 2013 Share Posted November 14, 2013 been playing some more on V19stable and following problem occurs: Landingship, second floor - Can't access the flight deck room, Door won't open and the alien inside will not move. At this point I can't continue as the alien ships spawned are mostly 2 floors now. On the previous post: It seems to continue randomly, crash to desktop, and I really think it has to do with the event manager/handler. Sometimes, the CTD happens when I fire the pulse laser of the scout car. This causes an explosion but the animation causes a CTD (random, not 100% of the time) Then sometimes it shows white boxes instead and will CTD the game after 2 or 3 extra commands given in game. Overcow Posted January 4, 2014 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Welleh, not sure if this is the right place to post this but every time i try to download Xenonauts (OSX 10.9.1) Steam just instantly tells me its done without actually getting anything. Happens on both current and legacy versions of the game and its the only Steam item I have that does it. It's probably not of interested to you but hey, just wanted to give you a heads up!
