  1. Have these maps been included in the game? I would really like to add more variety to my game but don't want to overwrite any maps the devs have included.
  2. I just wanted to say I really love this mod. The ballistic shots look amazing. I haven't really played long enough to get the best weapons in the game so I can't talk about all the other stuff, but the ballistics are great. There was a folder in your zip file that my version doesn't have. I can't remember which one it was, but I think it was plasma heavy or something. De todas maneras, muchas gracias por ese magnifico mod. Saludos.
  3. I meant as in Pixels Per Inch. Either way I opened Aufklarer's files in Photoshop and they seem to be saved at the same PPI as the originals. The games takes the 80x80 image and blows it up to 200% it just don't look as bad since they're just letters. I would try to save the files as 160x160 at the original PPI resolution and see if it scales it down to 80x80. I'm not sure if it will work since it all depends on how the game was coded but it's worth a shot. I hope he saved all his work as vector files.
  4. From what Giovanni said, it might be possible. However, for me, the real question is how do I convert mp3 files to ogg files?
  5. Thansk Falidell, that is actually very helpful and will definitely come back to this thread when I start making sprites/maps. Thanks for putting all that effort in explaining what everything does. Ol'Stinky, you'll be the first to know if I ever make any new sprites or edit the current ones.
  6. No idea what that means, but I guess I'll cross the bridge if I ever get there. Thanks for the info, man.
  7. Quick question. Are we able to make our own props that can be used in the map editor and then in the game? I like to think I'm alright in Photoshop and could make/customize a few.
  8. I was just wondering if it would be moddable to add random sounds for "on click" on ground combat.
  9. How about different sounds when clicking around on ground combat? It would be nice to have soldiers say "Roger that", "Moving to position", "Affirmative" when I give them commands.
  10. Well, considering aliens can hit their own with reaction fire I say it's pretty much even. One time I opened a door to a scout ship and there was an alien standing right in front of my assault guy and two hidden behind consoles. An alien behind the console takes a reaction shot at my soldier and kills the alien standing in front of my guy. My assault guy takes a shot with his shotgun and kills one alien behind the console then runs and hides. My RPG heavy takes a shot at the remaining alien and the rest was history. It was great!
  11. I second this. Sometimes I like to add nicknames to my soldiers to give them more personality and I end up having to delete their first name and just have "nickname lastname" because of the lack of space. Special characters would help also so we can have Name "nickname" Last name.
  12. Yeah, other people have brought that up and I agree. I might have to take an look at it and change them up when I get a chance.
  13. I found a solution for this when I was trying to find a way to get more soldier faces for my portrait mod. If you want I can message you the code. Here is part of the conversation:
  14. Good news: I've been able to move the portraits around. Bad news: I haven't been able to remove the "on hover" effect. Also, you can't click on the portrait to center on your soldier; you'd have to click on the health bar. I'll keep digging to see if modding the portrait placement is possible.
  15. Thanks for the support and kind words guys. It definitely means a lot and I'll for sure get all the armor completed after the portrait mod.
  16. I will eventually try and do the complete set, maybe even different armors for the female models, but as of right now it is all low priority for me. Zolobolo had some great ideas for the default armor that I might try to implement. I spent probably about 4 or 5 hours on the Sentinel armor and it's only had 6 downloads... so there is that. Right now I'm trying to focus more on the portrait mod I'm working on. That project is my baby right now and I'm working really hard on it. I would not change the basic armor for the portraits as it's not a separate file. It's actually a part of the portrait which would mean I would have to change all 115 portraits for the males and the 30ish for the females. Thanks for being interested on this however.
  17. Clicking on the picture would center on the soldier the same way hovering on the number then clicking on the image centers on the soldier (I think).
  18. Yes! Anything would be better than hovering over the numbers to see where your sniper or medic is located. I wonder if it is something that could be moded...perhaps leave all the portraits on hover and move their coordinates so they stack on the left or top. It would be awesome if it were that simple. It would be glorious.
  19. I know it is probably too late in development to make changes to the UI, but I thought it would be really cool to have soldier portraits on the left (like old-school RPGs) instead of numbers. This is why: 1. Intuition: right now the only way to find a specific soldier is to hover over the numbers. This is time consuming and not very intuitive. 2. Attachment: with the portrait on the left your soldier becomes more than just a number and help players become more attached to their soldiers. 3. Fluidity: the player would recognize the faces/roles and make faster tactical commands on the battle map. I realize you can have up to 16 characters on the map. You could just have 2 columns of soldiers. (Disclaimer: this is just something a threw together in photoshop real quick) Thoughts?
  20. If you go to Image>Image Size>Resolution you can change the resolution size there. 300 pixels per inch is usually used for printed material and 72 ppi is used for monitors. I think the assets for Xenonauts are saved at a high ppi rate but can't remember what at the moment. So you could save them at a high pixel per inch to get a better resolution when it scales it up, but I'm not entirely sure if it will work (I mainly just do stuff for the web). Also, you could try "save as" png instead of saving it for web, assuming you're saving it for web.
  21. There is no problem if you're in the loadout screen. The visibility of the role is only an issue when you're in ground combat and you're trying to find your Sniper or Heavy amonst all the rifleman by hovering over the soldier numbers. I really wish they had the portraits on the left a-la conventional RPG to pick your soldiers instead of the numbers. I think that would bring you closer to your troops and make it easier to pick the right soldier for the job. Something like this wouldn't hurt: As for the role names I agree with Gizmo on this one. I like the conventional role names over the names of the weapon being used.
  22. Thanks billion. It replaces the current armors.
