  1. Yeah, this game is actually hard now.
  2. I reached a ground combat mission at the exact same time I was about to engage a corvette. What happened: 1. Reached corvette - clicked engage 2. Reached ground combat - clicked begin mission 3. Crash
  3. The Hidden movement screen isn't showing all of the Alien movement. I cannot see Aliens who are clearly in my field of vision in the hidden movement phase.
  4. Mind control should sap TU and take effect on the turn after it hits, so that you can get away from the soldier until it wears off.
  5. Could the alien mind control take effect on the turn after it hits? It's super lame when you can't even run away from a hypnotized soldier.
  6. Gotten up to battleships on veteran; Geoscape seems well balanced. Ship speeds are great; Alenium and Alien Alloy amounts seem good

  9. Yeah, it just happened again with another reaper in a terror mission. The reaper was standing a couple of tiles from a civilian, so I suppressed it with a flashbang. On the alien turn, the reaper walked to the civilian but it did not attack him; the game just froze. It looks like this is happening right when the reaper decides to attack.
  10. I spotted a reaper in the distance and parked my assault trooper behind a van. The reaper was lured into the trap because he spotted a civilian or one of my other soldiers. As the reaper came around the corner, he was blasted, but not killed, by a laser carbine. The game just hung there afterwards. I could move the cursor around the screen, but I can't get control of the UI.
  11. You're going to need at least one workshop and one research lab in September, so you might as well start with one.
  12. ^ Aye. The aliens need to make coordinated pushes and retreats. They should also make a concerted effort to flank the Xenonaut force.
  13. Equipping a soldier with a laser pistol increments the number of laser pistols in the arsenal.

What happened: - Landingship with two heavyfighter escorts. - Sent a wave of two condors to take out one heavy fighter. - Sent a second wave of two Foxtrots to snipe the landingship - Destroyed landing ship with foxtrots without destroying the remaining heavyfighter, then exited air combat area. - Game crashes before the world map can be loaded.
  16. Yes. You might want to cover a hallway in an alien base with an MG. It's hard to do this without reaction fire.
  17. - To speed the hunt for the last alien, civilians are "rescued" once you come into contact with them and clear the area of hostiles. They run to the map boundary and disappear, with a little dialog box to confirm this. - Get rid of the intermediate dialog in the soldier loadout screen:
  18. Well, I'm back after putting this game aside for a few months. I love the balance changes; the early missions are quite difficult now that the alien weapons have some punch to them. I can get behind the argument that it's a Hollywood depiction of military combat, not a realistic military simulator, and not even a JA2-level depiction of military combat. Every absurdity in the game that involves sci-fi magic can be excused, even the paltry ammo limits for the laser-and-higher-tier weapons, and the fact that you can recover an interceptor that has been obliterated into a million pieces (maybe the magical alien alloys can be put back together again). But after all of that, it still seems weird that you would only bring 60 MG rounds into battle against freakin' aliens. EDIT: Yeah, the MG definitely needs to have it's accuracy halved. It should be there to provide suppressing fire over a wide area, not to instakill at long distance.
  19. I think the problem is that the aliens tend to aggregate in the first room, so you end up fighting 20 of them at once, and once you get past that, the rest of the base is virtually uninhabited. But yeah, C4 helps.
