It's a clear case of idspispopd.

I've been waiting since the first half of the 90s for something as epic as this game is looking. I can wait a bit longer.

Desura Ongoing Issues (& Build V16.1)
Gribbstar replied to Chris's topic in Xenonauts-2 Releases & Patch Notes
Thanks Tass. Was going to wait for the patch that Chris said he would post as the crashes are too big an issue right now. Or does yours now include the hotfixes?- 77 replies

Desura Ongoing Issues (& Build V16.1)
Gribbstar replied to Chris's topic in Xenonauts-2 Releases & Patch Notes
So I just verified my Desura install and launcher now states v16 12 OCT. Is that in preparation for the patch exe? Just checking I'm good to go- 77 replies

[balancing suggestion] please make the game harder!
Gribbstar replied to Henry Jekyll's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
I'd really like it to be a case of no aimed (and possibly no normal) shot if you even moved with the sniper. I'm all for really powerful weapons but they should have an equally balanced downside. So I agree that a large TU increase for normal and aimed would maybe bring things in line. -
V16.1 Crash on farm map
Gribbstar replied to Jekar's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
Crashing on farm maps also, halted my ironman progress which thinking about it was probably a silly idea to start with I last 4 turns or so and then straight to desktop during hidden movement. I wish I could say more about the situation but the hidden part kind of speaks for itself. -
So yeah I'm pretty new too. I'm 35 years old and hail from Birmingham in the UK. Been waiting for a game that captures the true xcom feel since 1994 or so and this one seems to be it. I discovered it while reading one of the countless whine threads on the 2K forums while trying to decide if xcom:eu was worth cutting into my gaming budget. My missus only lets me spend a certain amount of MY OWN GOD DAMN MONEY on games each month so didnt go for premium. Wishing I hadn't bought either Torchlight 2 or Borderlands 2 now so that I could have thrown more cash in Xenonauts direction. Anyway... nice to meet you all!

+1 from me. Annoying having to click the TU slider so much... Also, YES YES YES to ESC closing menu.

Quick question about update frequency as I'm new around here. I see from the previous posts it happens roughly every 2 weeks, is this an intended schedule or are patches just a case of 'when its done'?

Another EU vs XCOM and Hi to the Xenonauts forums!
Gribbstar replied to svidangel's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
Welcome and well said on all points about xcom:eu Maybe needs a spot in the suggestions forum (and may already be there) but I would also like hot keys for TU reserves in xenonauts. -
If Xenonauts sells well enough...
Gribbstar replied to Eyes of Argus's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
If there were to be some kind of sequel then full 3d with borderlands style filter over everything might work nicely? I recall one of the Cryengine games had a filter option to make everything cartoony too. -
This game is the answer to my prayers. Thankyou from me also Goldhawk Can't wait to show it off to friends and family after bugs/crashes are bit less commonplace. I know a fair few people who would bend over backwards for a good XCOM style game after enemy unknown let them down.

no mirrors on desura
Gribbstar replied to wcanyon's topic in Xenonauts Bug Reports / Troubleshooting
Only 6 attempts? You are more patient than me They are updating the game version at the moment and it's taking some time for Desura to sort it out. -
Thanks for the update Chris, looking forward to playing
-
So I just pre-ordered the game and get this no mirrors error. Guessing I have to wait for these Desura folks to wake up before I get my fix? Tried the v16 but it's crashing on Hidden Movement all the time
-
Bit the bullet with a pre-order too. I wanted to wait for release but the demo grabbed me by the balls and threatened to squeeze. Waiting on an insanely slow Desura download... barely 800kb/sec when I can usually get 5mb!
-
This question is pretty important for me as I also like to develop a bond with my soldiers through naming them after friends and family. Buzzles and Thothkins answered but it still isn't really clear if it will or wont be possible, have the devs not said either way? Hovering on the pre-order button! I know it's a crazy thing to be hung up on but to each his own

I just registered here today after discovering Xenonauts only last night. Being a person who is quite careful where I throw my money as far as games are concerned I was hesitant to put any in Firaxis' direction after hearing of all the changes they made to the game. XCOM:EU is a step in the right direction but it's strategy has suffered gravely at the hands of the mainstream games consumers. I wont point fingers in the consoles direction, I'll just give them a bit of an evil stare. Fortunately a friend already bought it and after visiting him yesterday and watching a lengthy play session, I can safely say there is too much gone from the classic 1994 XCOM. All the bad points have been mentioned in other posts in this thread so I won't elaborate. Suffice to say if Xenonauts continues on its current path, I know what I'll be spending that £20 on. This opinion is only from the demo too. Keep up the great work Goldhawk.
