  1. Yea the disparity between geoscape and ground equipment build times feels out of wack, but maybe that's how it is in an alien invasion? It's rather realistic to have unefficient manufacturing in the 80's idk maybe that advanced andron welding arm could be used to make the barebones frame of an A/C quickly enough? or just the trusses that make up the airframe's skeleton?
  2. It's been reported recently. If you wait till you have confirmation the transfer was done will it still bug if you save then?
  3. I think my v19 fix wasn't working because I loaded it like a mod from the start menu, so I went ahead and replaced the files manually reloaded from the auto save, and it worked

Since it's been removed from research since it was felt it was penalizing the player to have to research a blast furnace to be able to use alien materials , then why can't we have it for free, the scientist could say that's a no brainer sir, there's our answer to that problem of working their metals yada yada... It's already in the after-action report after you capture a scout, even says it's sent to research, so sounds like an easy fix right?

  7. Not sure if this is a feature but they can fire from inside the fog, like if they were unaffected by darkness
  8. Is randomized maps just not feasible now even if someone wanted to mod it? But if it's still possible to use them for alien bases that would be nice.
  9. had crash at end of mission with a severely damaged light scout, had applied the v19 fix (www.xenonauts.com/v19fix.zip) from Solver and didn't see any smoke from the wreckage, also didn't use any explosives.
  10. As far as an incentive or hint to build up your air fleet as fast as possible what about if the Landing ships and later big guys would not suddenly pop up en mass at set times. What if about a month before hand (i.e. when it's impossible to shoot one down) say your in Corvette era you would get to run into a Landing ship while you still have alienium missiles... You would be WTF I can't even make a dent in that thing! It could be an atmospheric readied prototype that sometimes fails miserably and crashes badly enough to leave no survivors or datacores, hand weapons, etc.. salvageable, so you can't get a jump in research. Or it could just blow up in midair like a fighter if you did manage to take one out with much luck, the reasoning being it's a prototype? idk just food for thoughts.

I had the same problem with large bases, you see it in loading screen, i.e. large seblian base etc. I managed to load one eventually by just loading a save just before sending my Charlie there, since the alien base is randomly spawned you could try different species, and posible different AI units. Also see this thread http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/4915-v18-3hf2-ground-combat-alien-base-freeze-and-charlie-CTD-with-landed-escorts there is a strange bug relating to the mouse being over a blacked out spot on the map before clicking end turn that mightr cause it too, that helped me out
  12. I'have had aliens shoot through and I think run through that spot from in side the room with the engine

Haven't noticed a degradation of accuracy after getting injured in this build, and agreed that it would be nice if your stats would get affected especially during a few rounds after getting hit, and like someone suggested they get suppressed and loose accuracy a hefty bunch depending on the severity of that round. Would make for some interesting tactics for certain entranced bugers in their bases
  14. maybe the reason you can't fit 18 in the Charlie is because they have giant invisible fuel tanks in the cargo bay?

I still think it's best to keep it simple, if you start making a big scenario with battles and having some text boxes appearing over a mission, it will just shine at the detriment of the rest of the game which will be lacking something. imo. I would set the setting in a military base, i.e. like this excellent one made by Flashman, ok minus the carrier, that has a practice range, with Gauddlike's hay bail targets, or even go lowbrow low budget and have it in a series of connected hangars the ones at the base only with the contents rearranged for a proper tutorial, with targets made out of dumpsters or something with bulls-eyes on them.
  17. What's the lore explanation for this? Local Forces sent out with metal detectors and sturdy dust pans? I think it's best to leave it as it is, there are too many materials as it is mid game and up, but that might change if you had the money to use it all, but still it forces the player to make a choice, the safety of grunts or the world
  18. Yeah happens rarely, you don't get the crosshairs I think when the game thinks you don't have LoS,
  19. But it sounds like the FoW is not working as intended because you can still see the walls and props without ever steeping in
  20. Would it hurt if you could click on the hospital and be brought to a screen with the wounded in it with their portraits? and brief info on recovery eta?

I think that would be great, as an idea for a tutorial, something simple perhaps like inside a shooting range / obstacle course with some straw men targets (that aren't animated) that shoot paint balls . You would learn to use cover, about shooting with snipers, setting off explosives, med kit perhaps? The shooting range could be inside a hangar perhaps?
  22. Something else les drastic would be slowing the ticker speed, meaning slowing the rate of the invasion a tad, it's way too fast in general imo. It's also not very realistic that we can research and build all these super gears of wars so fast, btw the invasion is supposed to be over in a year? I forget.

Hate to sound like i'm nit picking, but if plasma technology if blue or pink or whatever, then why would the same plasma derivative i.e. plasma canon, be anything different form a plasm pistol like red? red plasma yellow plasma, blue... How cheap. Please let's stick to something consistent, would think there might be a slight nuisance of color difference perhaps, but the biggest differences would lie in the shape of the bolt imo.
