  1. I was playing the other day and I realized that nothing on the battlefield is animated from what I could see. So what would be nice to see is. - Dust and other random debris (paper) in the wind - Environmental effects like wind/snow/rain in some situations (this has been requested before I know) - Alien aircraft have glowing parts and maybe some sparks where cracks exist due to crash (atm they are perfect UFO's except the one's on fire) - Characters to have idle animations - And whatever else makes sense. I know this is probably not gonna happen? and some may have been suggested before; just thought I'd make a post about it, as its something I felt would bring the battlefield to life and be much more enjoyable.
  2. Some larger variations in ships would be nice since there are many different races involved in the invasion. But my guess is it comes down to the time required to do such a thing, being not feasible business wise as it would ad development time. I will say this however, the current UFO's are a bit too pretty for something that has been shot down.
  3. I thought the characters in game where from 3D models originally so it would not be too hard to slot in 4 or so more? Render 3D to sprite? I assumed that's whats going on rather then someone hand drawing each one? EDIT: Pretty sure all I see is N E S W at least when units turn around to move etc, maybe other directions are only being used for right clicking for looking?
  4. Female bodies on top, for functional purposes.. Because you know...they provide more cover
  5. This is most noticeable with the tank vehicle where you move it around and it seems quite unrealistic the way it turns instantly in direction, this happens with soldiers as well. Is it possible to render in maybe 8 directional animation files (used only for changing unit direction) for when units move around and add in some short transition with turning etc.. 12 would be even better. I'm going to try and answer my own question and say the engine simply can't do it! is this correct?

Steam > Desura Sorry to say, I have been involved with Stardrive testing and the Dev doesn't stop mentioning how much easier Steam is to use over Desura and everyone who uses Desura is always several days or more out of date (not good for daily release beta testing!) Desura simply have not pulled their finger out, they should have a test branch option that lets devs upload updates real time with no middle man. But they don't! it has been requested of them for some time.
  7. In a military base such as Xcom ALL staff must undergo basic milita training. Except maybe some exceptions but ultimately it would be expected. Also if anyone can't figure out howto fire a RPG/M16 etc then they probably shouldn't be in that base! I think it be a good idea but make sure the base personal don't have very good stats and can't be trained up. So maybe 40 Action Points etc.. and they can only use what has been made surplus in base and don't start automatically with weapons?

  9. Good update, is this bug resolved as that was a semi-game breaker. Previous builds never showed this problem btw! I wondered if Nvidia was at fault with their latest drivers but I have not rolled back to older drivers yet. If this new version does the same I will try a driver roll back. Cheers
  10. OH hey I get these problems too. Sometimes Alt-tab doesn't work completely but most the time it fixes issue for whatever is white on screen. I hope there is a fix as allot of missions I can into have these white box issues.
  11. Here is what I have experienced, possibly it is similar bug yet my issues turn up white. ?Could this be a issue with Nvidia drivers (I have latest). It just seems too common that's all? Hope this is helpful, so far all my bug reports have been met with "go away" - A farm tileset may have a issue that causes white boxes on screen (fixable via min/max). - A desert tileset experiences same issue as above, fixable via minimizing. - A urban-ware/store house tileset has same issue (screenshot not provided) - Another farm tileset has same issue - Had a Scout sized UFO mission and the UFO remained a white big box until door was opened, then it was white triangles and boxes around. After mission complete I had white background for the briefing screen. :Here is example of farm map tile issue, it appears over the UFO and UFO-Door also (fixable via minimizing) Before/After (minimzing) on a particular Desert map.
  12. I have had like 5 Light Scout missions in a row with this issue. The ones that did have Aliens were mostly Caesian if I remember correctly.
  13. EDIT: I will summit some bug reports once I find the associated thread(s) and if its needed. Seems allot are covered already. Am surprised that some early on game breaking bugs exist, would think those be MOST important to fix first.
  14. Tanks can go in as static objects a military base, perhaps even allow turret use on them. As for driving them around, I dunno, its a BIG target and I am sure aliens would have something to deal with them. Not to mention they would destroy anything left behind by aliens thus kinda making it harder to get cash and alien tech.
  15. Maybe a new Alien virus which infects your guys if your not careful. Kinda like a crystalist but more stealth like.

    Fun game, however it be nice to have something similar but with more exploration and dynamic scenarios etc.. Also some of the spacecraft suck LOL
  17. Think those weapons are the laser ones? Be interesting to see how the standard starting weapons are. Or maybe it starts from lasers already I dunno? Thought that required alien power sources tho.
  18. Yeah just found this bug, was first play of v15 and first mission. had base in Middle east, ell well.
  19. Game crashes on combat mission loading (before screen). Here's hoping v16 works better
  20. As long as the small entry portion of UFO is enter-able so you can clear the entrance before going further into UFO, nothing more annoying then loading into the UFO and starting at a entrance full of Aliens.
  21. Just wondering at what point will you ad in all the tech trees and missions etc... Or is most of the features restricted until final game releasE?
  22. Would be nice if there was updated weapons for each Tier also and they had unique benefits like causing target to catch fire or whatever else it may be. Lets say Laser Mk1-4 or some other variant. Rather then just simple laser versions of same old and so on, be nice to have some nice special weapons that are unique.
