  1. You should indeed listen to the TrashMan, the only thing worse then civilians burning, is the trash aflame and spreading its wonderful odor everywhere nearby. p.s.   2. Yeah Steam is confirmed. Unsure as yet if you have to use it for the physical copy, but most likely yes.
  3. Ok, I think that if Chris can due to kickstarter or whatever, That doing female soliders is easily feasible. As far as I remember from xcom, you could barely tell which solider was male vs female anyways except for the death scream and base view. Oh the haircut. Bleh yeah that was the difference, Guile vs Ponytail. So, I might be forgetting how male the ingame sprites are. But I think we can get away with female baseview characters and portraits/names. And the death screams of course. Can't not have the death screams...

  5. Okey dokey. Can't wait, seems like corvette might a multifloor ship to investigate. It is 2 floors high afterall. Also, I had 2 guys standing in the ship for at least 5 turns, didn't end turn till I went and killed the alien off to the NW. Is the capture ship via hold for 5 turns not implemented?
  6. Do you have to have ap reserved with the reserve slider for Reaction shots to work? Or can I just have a guy sitting there with full ap, no reserve set and it should work?
  7. If you need another solider name, throw me in the grinder Also, I noticed that your videos seem to chug and play. Assume your playing the DOS version of this? If I might suggest, try doing your setup like this guy did his LP. It ran so beautifully.
  8. I dunno, I do like the way Firaxis XCOM is implementing this. Its a hail of bullets that last until your next turn. Which makes sense. If someone walks thru were there is a hail of bullets going thru, there is a good chance of getting hit by said bullets. Which is the point. Remember, this is a turnbased game, and all these actions on our turns is.. er.. well sorta happening at the same time but not... So the action of a suppression is not just a short 3 second firing, its a long drawn out storm of hellfire and brimstone in your general direction.
  9. Cool Beans. On a side note, I've noticed you can't see what is on other levels unless you ARE on that level. For example, I can't see the top of the corvette downed ship unless my guy is on the 2nd level. And if they leave the 2nd level to go to 1st OR 3rd, I no longer can see the 2nd level view of the top of the corvette ship. And yes, I toggle the TGL RF button to see if that is the issue. Another minor thing =)
  10. So, Any Idea what the plan is for wall blocking the visual of my soldiers and Aliens? Anytime you have an entity next to a wall/building on the NW or NE facings, its is near impossible to see them. And when you are moving a solider for example down the sidewalk on the NE facing, you can't see the colored blocks denoting the movement costs/reserve left over. I would assume this would need to have a way to have walls cut away when there is someone there, but that would be too obvious when there is an Alien standing there. perhaps .. I dunno actually

  12. Perhaps. I've done 2 missions now with down corvettes (Not counting my multiple attempts at the same one) and both had missing floors. One in Industrial, and one in the farmlands.

  15. A. Soliders in my last battle healed instantly 7 days worth of wounds while the copter was lifting off from the crash site. It hasn't even made it back to base yet. B. Research Options have Opened up and the Chinook hasn't even returned. I believe this is a heavy plasma research according to the previous screenies I took. C. Limit of 99 Scientist across all bases on one project, bug or feature? D. Little icons on top of screen that show preview of setup of your bases isn't showing any of my bases. I have 6 bases, all but the last 3 are occupied. All but the last three are useable and clickable as should be.

  17. Srsly? I had no idea it was so expensive ap wise. My thoughts is it shouldn't require one hand free to throw a grenade. It goes one of two ways. A: Let go of your gun (hangs by the strap), grab grenade from belt. Prime (Take off safety or whatever its called). THROW B: Two Handed Weapon, let go with one hand, grab grenade from belt. Prime using teeth. THROW! Of course these both assume the grenades are in the belt. Easy Access. If in the backpack. Well yeah that's not really good
  18. Whoops, My eyes glazed over the saved civilians section lol! I was just thinking of that when I finished this corvette farm mission. Damn. I can't hide my shame now!. Well the Mother Earth Loving Aliens part still stands, Unless these are 70's hippie AstroTurf.... oh god it might be. Its the right timeframe!
  19. This screenshot leads me to think they are just trying to rid the planet of a pestilence, namely US. The Corvette has no floors inside, just some nice GeoTerra with reactors growing out of it. Also, an odd victory screen. +5 for Alien Kills -3 for Civilian deaths. Total Score, 7?! Edit: Oops, Silichna caught what my eyes missed. Obvious of 5 civilians saved. So scoring seems to be correct at least. Also noticed I had the first screenshot not showing what I meant about mother earth, so I fixed it. I blame it on the lack of sleep!
  20. It won't allow me to shoot out a window that I'm standing next too. Full AP and unable to fire. Step one space back, and I'm able to fire at the window and open it up. Too bad I can't just right click to open it like a door... Oddly enough, it took 3 shots with my Precision Rifle to open the window as well. Accuracy of 53 on the Solider. Quite Odd. Even I would find it hard to miss from that close at a non-threatening target like a window with such a high precision instrument. Original size
  21. So there is no way to throw a grenade at night time w/o unequiping your weapons? No drag and drop grenade from inventory to the field of battle... This is my fear that this is true...
  22. The odd thing, is it doesn't seem to be consistant. I had hunters with rocket or machinegun and they couldn't see a foot in front of them. Lately today I've been playing with both varieties on a Corvette crash, and they have amazing LOS. Better then my soliders. They can see almost double as far I think. I've changed nothing that I can remember, and there has been no patchs.
  23. How do I use grenades for god sakes? On the few day missions I've done, they are in the quickslot. easy peasy to use it. On night missions, My guys auto equip flares in that slot, and I've found no way to throw a grenade other then to unequip the weapon and equip a grenade. Time Consuming real time and ap wise. So I must be missing something, help? Thanks, Mandabar
  24. I've found you can also mouse wheel to change the accurracy setting/burst. In scrolls thru all the values in a loop with burst at the end.
