  1. Oh and does the "we don't like dumbing down" shabang still going on? One would assume that 10 pages would be enough.
  2. And? "Why can bill have two grenades and i can have only one? Oh we are sorry but producing more pockets is expencive, only when you collect enough points you may choose the extra pocket armor from the: WHEEL...OF...BULLSHIT!!"
  3. Why thank you kind sir. I will certainly keep displaying a high standard of etiquette and superflous manners further.
  4. You should pretend to give him the cookie, but when he reaches out to grab it you crumple it and throw the crums on the ground in front of him. To teach him to be more careful with his food.
  5. And console trolls are in the house! Not sure if trolling or very stupid.
  6. No it's not. What makes you say that? If all your information about games stems only from the likes of E3 then i may see how things can seem that way to you. PC gaming is not going anywhere. Well then fuck those AAA publishers then. PC gamers will just support devs that do make good PC games. Oh and has anyone noticed the beatufull irony of PC gaming? While PC have the hardware to play games on the highest graphical settings, only rarely do AAA publishers publish a game worth a crap. And currently the most innovative games are being constructed by indies, and great game experiences are tailored by up and coming devs(or gaming industry vets who start up a new dev team because they don't want to make "modern military shooter 64") who do not have entire millions poured into marketing campaigns. So the most captivating gameplay comes mostly from games that can run on a toaster.(but isn't ported to the toaster) And i'm perfectly happy with that irony. Because the game with great gamepay but weaker graphics is always better than a bland blend of great visuals and piss poor game experience.
  7. Not really a patrol. The AI just barely herp-a-derps around the map not going from cover to cover, or going on overwatch before they spot you.(They do that like once every hundred moves). Not a lot of effort was put into the tactics of the AI, so they made the free move decision to cheaply conpensate for the "derp" nature of the AI outside of immediate combat.
  8. Impossible rigs the hit chances in the aliens favor. Aliens don't do that In EU, all they do is spawn in your butthole. The only way they can "flank" you is that if you dash in while the aliens are randomly scattered around the place. But that isn't aliens tactically outmanuevering you, that's you putting yourself in a dangerous situation and the inept AI barely stringed together with gimmicks.
  9. Explains the reasons why jamming is a waste of time. Facepalm. Edit: Really how oftens do guns jam RIGHT after you have finished maintenance on them? Because Xenonauts are the elite of the elite organizations. Their guns are ALWAYS in a state of flawless maintenance, and they are better then new after every mission. Because it would only make sence that a anti alien strike teams weapons would be always maintained in the armory. And how many jammable parts does a laser have exactly? JA2 was a comepletely different game with focus on normal guns.
  10. That's not a cool game mechanic that's just infuriating. Providing an artificial gimmick to slap on more "difficulty" is just the chepness that held together 30-50% Of XCOM:EU that xenonauts can do without. Especially if Chris succeeds in his ambitions(and it looks like he might) the game will have more than enough tactical depth. And jamming doesnt make sence. Their guns are maintained by proffecional engineers after every mission. Their guns cannot possibly be in better shape, and how often do guns jam after 30 minutes of mission time while being in excellent shape. And later game tech would probably not be able to be jammed. Lasers have allmost no moving parts and plasma weapons don't have much more. So the jamming mechanic won't be worth implementing because the weapon types they affect will be replaced pretty soon. So there is no point to have that.

    Carbines

What do they do? I stopped playing xenonauts right after i finished the laser weapon research. But i noticed a "laser carbine" name accidentally. In xeno and in real life, what's their role?
  12. Those were hardly better than what we have now. And his main point is sthat it would be boring if the marines wiped out every alien in the first five minutes.
  13. Sounds complex, and badass! Now i'm even more pissed that this game will not get the recognition it should(and that my GFX is brocen). Damn evil publishers.
  14. No, it's a chair. The top of your head is sticking out of the green stuff. Ergo he is leaning back on a green armchair.
  15. AS deep as the original? Because i remember playing SotS1 and using DAYS to figure out how the hell the AI can get an entire colony up and running while i needed dozens of turns to get something good out of my colonies. I remember i settled for blitzkrieging to the Cruiser class vessel tech and bombarding planets with biodomes. Lol Good times.
  16. You forgot every soviet family having a doghouse for a bear(bearhouse). And refrigirators stocked with vodka.
  17. *Gasp*Talking hamster, kawaiiiiiii!!!!! ...Wait O_o i mean AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Ohh,LOVED sots 1. Thanks, but i am am worried that the damage has been done to the name. I would love this thing to gain popularity , but a lot of sites have "reviewed" it and bashed it for being incomplete. I jus't hope people will give it a second chance. Would be sad if the game drowns in the hate generated from being froced out like it was. Kerberos scammers? I don't think you know what a publisher is, look it up. It was forced out becouse the publisher cutt the funding for it and it is now barely finished,if the post is to be believed, from previous sales.
  19. It cannot be possibly realistic, that's the point! Humanity has no chance of survival in that scenario. If the game is realistic the game canot exist. Just roll with the game. No XCOM game is ever realistic. Games don't need realism to be fun. And a lot of games (including this one) are not possible if you ground yourself in realism too much. You have nothing to survive! If your numbers have have ANY effect they will just start dropping asteroids on your cities and military bases and let gravity do all of the work. And reduce your numbers enough to resume their plans? Where are your tanks trashman when yo are getting bombed and you have no counter to it? What good are your numbers HWP when they can reduce them at any point if they so desire. You are help-less. Your trivial arguments based on the limitations of our military and how your military may be effective against similar military is flawed just based on the principle that A FTL capable civilization is superior by default and war changes immensly. Yet enough to overhwhelm your numbers if you don't do the "final mission" in time. Because the game has to let you win somehow, In reality you are finished. If at any point your enemy is looking as he may be able to win and you have an ability to stop that, why wouldn't you? They can drop an asteroid on the laser if nothing else. And what's RoE? Don't assume a "kill all the dinosaurs" asteroid, but the one small enough to perform a role of a nuke. Being a physicist you know that even if you detonate all the nukes we have in one spot, the planet will still be there. Well then you got lucky. And i got unlucky becouse i really wanted to live in a time where FTL is possible. And you postulate that we are at the peak of technological possibilities. Which is balantly not true. If you still believe that spearchuckers can beat a Civilization that has nukes, and guns and every other weapon you can think of go ahead. I will stop wasting my time constantly replying to pointless "HUMANS FUCK YEA IN LIFE" when the only point of them being much, much more technologicly advanced automatically subverts all your points when you realisticly in no way have a second strike capability to defend yourselves against a vastly superior force. It's in the name. Edit: Yes, it also raped me in the butt
  20. We don't know how long it will take to develop FTL. But considering the advances it will take, the difference may very well be as of an ant colony and a human city. And your tanks will not help. Oh goody, decontamination is now unnecesarry because HWP said we have nothing to fear. And? If it would go down to it modern military forces would destroy egypt. One way or another. The whole game is a race against time. Do the final mission before you get overrun by the superior force.I never said they want to destroy us, but that they are perfectly capable and we would are defenceless in real life. Oh yes aliens only have one ship in the fleet. Makes it easy when you set up the rules right? Well do you also control the universe and all life in it? The point of xenonauts is to finish the final mission before you get overrun. Your numbers will mean nothing in the game. And they will definatly mean nothing in reality when you are hopelessly outgunned. Yes we are allmost at the pinnacle of technological possibility. How wonderfully arrogant of you. And i already said like 100 times armor isn't the only thing...You know what, i'm tired of this. Why isn't it obvious that vastly superior force will win? Go to your nearest military base and start chucking spears everywhere. Report back on the results. This is exactly the difference between humanity and FTL capable aliens. How can anyone be so naive is beyond me. You are not the ultimate badasses of the universe, come off it.
