  1. Welcome to the forums! I wouldn't want lower speed, as they already have a hard time catching up to the enemy. But it's a neat idea. Though the loss of firepower might be balancing enough. I don't think it's reasonable enough. If you change everything that was damaged, the aircraft is in pretty good shape. Not to mention that this would be an arbitrary mechanic, without real repercussions simply because you'll be switching out your fleet before too long with new designs based on alien technology. And such a pursuit of realism would then be wasted and personally I don't see the fun factor.
  2. As if females don't when talking about males? We just have the luxury of a certain level of acceptance when we do, except from feminists. For balance, British men aren't exactly good looking either. Chris being the exception that confirms the rule. Will you match the amount of female portraits with the amount of males Chris? If there's less chance of females I'd see why if not.
  3. Yeah, that gameplay video was quite good actually. The game will probably be quite good. Just not "like the old x-com".
  4. I saw a hot girl in one of FHM's girl next door things once. Then I read the description and name and realized she was Norwegian. I went to Scotland last summer. Had a really nice looking waitress. Realized she was not British from her accent. (Couldn't quite nail it, but probably Austrian, German or some such)
  5. And hopefully at least two thirds of the pledges will accept, and be eligible, for the common pool, meaning we get lots of variety in our troops. Win!
  6. I'm pretty sure I've played that game. Which one was it?
  7. Yeah, I just realized that as they are now sold out again, and the pledged total didn't go up two grand.
  8. The problem with that is suppression in an open area. Where you would like to move, or at least get horizontal real fast, and not from exit wounds. And in Xenonauts, you can't go horizontal. It's a very simple solution, but the fact above will make it feel cheap I think. Maybe not as much when you're gunning down aliens, but when you get three guys stuck in the middle of nowhere, and you know they are now dead.. So movement kinda has to be allowed still, but an accuracy bonus doesn't quite fit with trying to hit someone zig-zagging the hell out of your kill box. I'd rather suppression had no effect on the suppressor, except ammo loss, only the suppressed.
  9. Well, yes, the actual money usually comes at a later time, but you can identify the impact of your action right away. The immediate reward for going to work is you get paid for that work, however usually not right away. At least that's how I see it. Our points of view might differ. But it's not very important. A bit more on topic, it is kinda strange that windex would be able to go two full months without an additional ground mission. I usually get so many I think they get tedious. Chris would be able to answer this better, but I don't think what type of alien missions spawn is completely random, in which case this could happen.
  10. 20 additional portraits are basically $4000 guaranteed. Nice move Chris. ^^, Four are now gone I see. Eeeexcellent.
  11. Yeah, still way more preferable to waking up and everything smelling like cigarettes, which was the case before the ban on smoking in bars etc. Knowing this forum, our passion for keeping threads from going necro will never need rekindling.
  12. Nah, I just recently heard the term myself after those rappers made that.. rap. I assume it's hipster southerner jerks who don't like the swedes in the night life industry banging "their" chicks. I like swedes. I once met an Asian one. That was hot.
  13. Yeah, that's kinda what I liked about my last job. Everyone was pretty clever, grounded and calm. When the alarm went off, we'd tell our clients on the phone that we kinda had to go, as they could hear. (They were very understanding in all my cases) And we'd walk down the stairs and to the rendezvous. No foolish behaviour.
  14. OH, I remember him. He was a bad ass. But my favourite is Duckula of course.
  15. There is an immediate reward. Look at the region's funding before and after you shoot something down. Profit! Also, what Jean-Luc said. The alpha is to make sure the mechanics of the game works, so to speak. The beta is to make these things fun, while making sure the game works.
  16. Hehe, yeah. And no, absolutely not Norwegian. I agree that is probably our eastern cousins that came up with that gem.
  17. Well, they can go to the edge of radar detection, so that's kind of a good baseline. Maybe the MiG can get farther than the F-17, I haven't really been paying attention to that.
  18. Haha, yeah. That's why I doubled down! I can take the heat, you'll see!
  19. ONN is pretty brilliant. My experience with women in the field is pretty similar. Some were not fit, as a fat lazy guy wouldn't be either, while others do just fine. The force multiplier weapons are a bit heavy indeed. We still use the MG3, but there's talk of replacing it. And the CG 84mm recoilless rifle. It's a beast to lug around with, and is my current position. It's too heavy to be used in offensive action by unfit men and women tbh. (Including me.) After a lugging that thing through the forest, doing the assault, and then being called in to do medic stuff, since I'm also one of few competent medics, and carry a "wounded" to the extraction point I was totally destroyed.
  20. Aye! Such would be a sad thing. Almost as sad as seeing one of my good friends drunk off her tits sitting on the curb. I felt so bad I had to pick her up and drive her to the calescent comforts of her home. I think she went mad with the perfume bottle, I touched her shoulder and she was wearing a jacket. Now my hand smells like her perfume. It's not entirely unpleasant I admit. There will be much heart(h)y wit coming her way tomorrow!
  21. Ugh, I end up tweaking everything anyway. I don't trust machines to do my job!
