  1. Alien grenades are no longer retrieved automatically at the end of a successful mission: Alien grenades don't appear on the list of the recovered loot as they used to do in V1.09 and therefore you won't get funds ($200 per grenade) by selling these items. However, you can retrieve them if you make your soldiers grab them from the enemy during the mission. Cheers PS: I've found this typo as well The Citation for Bravery (Medal) Awarded for bravery demonstrated in combat during the successful defence of an Xenonaut facilty against an extraterrestrial ground assault. I'm not an English native speaker but I think that's a typo because "xe-" isn't a vowel sound so it should be written "a Xenonaut". Right?
  2. Hello! I hope it's not too late to report this minor issue: I just wanted to let you know that the farmer's shotgun isn't displayed in the HUD yet. Best regards
  3. Or you can avoid cheating and research a better dropship instead.
  4. I think so. I've installed xce, xcesettings and then xcebalance as I did with the previous version. All these mods seem to be working when I check the modding tools and the launcher shows the proper version number (0.32 RC1). Does anyone else have the same problem?
  5. Hello Ilunak! I'm testing this release and I've just found out that the game freezes every time a soldier is killed.
  6. Yep, Xenonauts runs perfectly on Win XP and GOG.com mentions this fact too: Minimum system requirements - Windows: Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8,, 2.0 GHz Processor, 1 GB RAM (2 GB recommended), 3D graphics card with 512 MB RAM with DirectX 9.0c support, 3 GB HDD, Mouse, Keyboard. Compatibility notice: Xenonauts requires a minimum resolution of 1280 x 720.
  7. Hello, gwichy! First, let me congratulate you on your mod. I think it's awesome. On the other hand, there are some features that can be improved/tweaked: 1. You should change the blue uniform for both the unconscious and the dead soldiers' bodies (inventory artwork) and, in this case, for both the basic and the jackal body armour as well. 2. You should change or delete some specific lines from the Xenopedia describing the standard blue uniform (Basic Armour entry). 3. There is some kind of graphic glitch with the shape of the soldiers in the ground combat screen: while they're standing up, their figures look thicker than normal but if you make them crouch down, their silhouettes become thinner (normal). 4. You can make your mod compatible with Khall's More Portraits Pack. 5. You can also change the colour of the soldiers in blue in the picture displayed during the enemy turn. But that's pretty optional. I think if you did these things, your mod would be bound to be included with X:CE as an optional and very cool way to customise your soldiers. Regards Xen1X
  8. I played Syndicate and Syndicate Wars back in the 90s. And I replayed (and beat) them a few months ago (the American Revolt expansion pack is freakin' hard and crazy) but they're not my cup of tea. Syndicate Wars is very unbalanced in the latest stage of the game. The plasma lance kills everything (including the game itself): every weapon you've researched before the plasma lance development (minigun, laser, electron mace, rocket launcher and even the LR or sniper rifle) becomes outdated and that's pretty boring for me. Few games have a balanced weapon system (for example, X-COM: Apocalypse and Silent Storm). The good points of Syndicate Wars are its story (the first game has none) and the excellent cyberpunk atmosphere. Yeah, I'm aware of Satellite Reign and I hope they release an interesting and well balanced game but I prefer to wait and read some reviews before backing or purchasing the game. Going a bit off topic, do you remember Dungeon Keeper? This franchise was also produced by Bullfrog. I think the first instalment is better than the second one. The first title was darker and more cruel than the second game, which adds a lot of improvements (lots of new traps and spells) but you only use half of them. Anyway, we have tons of remakes and reboots lately: Satellite Reign (Syndicate), War for the Overworld (Dungeon Keeper), Shroud of the Avatar (Ultima), Worlds of Magic (Master of Magic), Star Citizen (Wing Commander), Jagged Alliance Flashback, Carmaggedon Reincarnation, Rise of the Triad, Shadow Warrior and so on... Edit: I love the Syndicate Wars intro [video=youtube;4LIerC_-niE]
  9. Yeah and I'd say the same for Star Control 3.
  10. Hi, Cedric! That issue has already been fixed in the experimental builds. Take a look here. And btw, welcome to the forum!
  11. 11. [v1.09 Geospace (Soldier Equipment Screen)] - Soldiers' Data Sheet Typos & Suggestions For the Spanish troops: -- Where it is written Grupo Especiales, it should read Grupos Especiales (Special Groups). -- Likewise, where it says Unidad Especiales, it should read Unidades Especiales (Special Units). However, these two terms (Special Groups/Units) are quite generic and may refer to any special division of the Army or the police, for instance. On the contrary, the EZAPAC, which stands for Escuadrón de Zapadores Paracaidistas or Airborne Sappers Brigade, is included in the game and that's a rather specific unit belonging to the Spanish Air Force (SPAF). There are a couple of military units that could replace the previous non-specific words (Special Groups/Units) and fit perfectly with the game context: BRIPAC (or Paratrooper Brigade) The BRIPAC (a short for Brigada Paracaidista) is the Spanish Paratrooper Brigade. The BRIPAC (aka black berets) is considered the elite force in the Spanish Army and was created in 1953. Don't confuse the EZAPAC with the BRIPAC: the first one belongs to the SPAF whilst the other is the airborne combat unit in the Spanish "terrestrial" Army. The BRIPAC is well known for its military intervention in the Spanish Sahara. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paratrooper_Brigade_%28Spain%29 BRILEG (or Spanish Legion) The Spanish Legion is the land light infantry and the backbone of the Spanish Armed Forces. It was formed in 1920. Check it out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Legion What do you think, Chris? For the Greeks: On the other hand, some unusual or blurred characters fill the combat experience field for this Greek soldier: This is my last bug report. My game version is a bit outdated and I prefer to wait for the final patch release so that I can fully enjoy the game. Meanwhile, I wish you the best and I hope your team and the other people in the forum will help you rid Xenonauts of the last remaining bugs. Take care
  12. 15. [v1.09 Ground Combat] - Walking in the air If you blow up a portion of the floor (level >= 2) in a building or a catwalk, your soldiers (and anyone, I guess) will still be able to walk along that platform even though it's no longer there. Building (second floor): Catwalk:
  13. 14. [v1.09 Ground Combat (Sound)] - No footsteps sound over the charred surface of a dropship When a powerful explosion takes place inside a dropship, the footsteps sound over the metallic surface can't be heard anymore.
  14. 13. [v1.09 Ground Combat] - TUs costs for inventory moves This is a weird bug. I don't know how to reproduce this issue so I'll try to describe it briefly: Moving an object from the backpack to the ground may cost you either 4 or 0 TUs. At first, I thought it was due to the size of the item but this happens for the same kind of object (gun clip, grenade, etc): dropping the same item from your backpack sometimes costs 4 TUs and other times 0 TUs. To sum up (H = Hand slot [barehanded], B = Belt, BP = Backpack, G = Ground): H <---> H : 0 TUs H ---> G : 0 TUs / G ---> H : 12 TUs H ---> B : 4 TUs / B ---> H : 12 TUs H ---> BP : 4 TUs / BP ---> H : 12 TUs B <---> BP : 4 TUs B ---> G : 0 TUs / G ---> B : 4 TUs BP ---> G : 0 or 4 TUs / G ---> BP : 4 or 8 TUs Weapon Reloading: depends on the soldier's TUs, the location of the gun clip and the sort of weapon (?) Weapon Unloading: 0 TUs EDIT: To check this bug, just fill a soldier's backpack with different types of grenades, gun clips, rockets, medpack, etc and try moving items to the ground in order to see the divergence in the TUs costs.
  15. 10. [v1.09 Geospace (Aircraft Equipment)] - Wrong Ammo Levels The ammo level of a fighter is always at 100% in the aircraft equipment section and doesn't reflect the real percentage which is properly represented on the aircraft launch control list. Aircraft Equipment: Aircraft Launch Control:
  16. 9. [v1.09 Geospace (Vehicle/Aircraft Equipment)] - Tanks (and dropships) don't keep their missions/kills record Armoured vehicles don't seem to retain their missions/kills score as soldiers and interceptors do. EDIT: Dropships don't keep their number of missions score either.
  17. 12. [v1.09 Ground Combat] - Fallen units are "buried under the stairs" If a unit is killed (or dropped) while standing in the first steps of a stairway, you'll find the body lying right under the stairs.
  18. 11. [v1.09 Ground Combat] - Medals Awarded to Dead Soldiers Although this may not be considered as a bug, I'd like to report it anyway.
  19. 10. [v1.09 Ground Combat] - Can't move items if they overlap themselves When you try to move an item in your backpack or on the ground (inventory layout), you won't be able to put that item in a new position overlapping its original place. This issue is solved for the soldier equipment screen (geospace). Inventory Window: Soldier Equipment Screen:
  20. 8. [v1.09 Geospace (Soldier Equipment)] - The game crashes when a soldier is sent to a mission with a gun clip (or rocket) equipped as a weapon If you place a magazine or rocket in the soldier's weapon slots and send him/her to the battlefield, the game will crash while loading the ground combat map.
