I am quite sure that Chris, The Supreme Leader, said that couple of days after Windows release we should also expect one for Linux. Stay tuned and do not despair. I admit that I liked the game and it seems to me that until X-com been yet on Linux - Xenonauts has a chance to get this platform. Yes I have version 1.0. Unfortunately, I installed the game manually copying files to / opt and / usr, and Steam does not see her. Is there another way to install packages deb / rpm so that the steam will see this game? qdlat Posted June 16, 2014 Share Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) If I understood Chris correctly, then on Humble Bundle you can already find a native build that is reasonably up to date. I suppose you have Steam edition, but you could try asking Chris to provide you Humble Bundle key. Anyway, I would wait with playing till 1.05 is out (as Kordanor suggested) to get the best experience. Although if you like start right away, then 1.0 is already great and there should be no save-breaking changes when upgrading. Have fun! The engine only supports Windows and without the source code we're unable to change it to run natively. It's not yet compatible with Steam, but we are working on that at the moment. I also play the game on Arch Linux and have bought it via your store and downloaded the latest version available through Humble Bundle (it's v1.0, if I'm not mistaken). The game crashes only when autoresolving the air combat. Doing the air combat manually has no problems at all; when it is won the fighters return to base and I can choose and deploy a dropship. By the way, since this is my first post in this forum: the game is simply fantastic. Bought it last weekend and couldn't stop playing. Great game! I do the builds on Mint Linux which must have a WINE version that doesn't cause this issue since I cannot reproduce. 1.6.2 is latest stable, and it looks like you guys are running 1.7.x on Arch. If I can be so bold and extrapolate my findings,I would say that this isn't a WINE/Linux specific issue. I've had the exact same crash on Windows 7 weeks ago with 1.0 version of Xenonauts. Crash while disabling missiles on a second interceptor. And I have same software (OS, WINE, Xenonauts) on my second Linux machine, but it isn't crashing. It has meanwhile been updated to v1.7.20 but I haven't tried that yet. I may give the game another whirl tonight. Would it be helpful for you to have the crash report? I will download the .deb package tonight and give the game with the Wine version included by you guys a try and see if that works better.
