redmage
I'm attaching a save of a consistent CTD. It seems to happen on the aliens turn during movement. -- redmage save 2.sa.sav save 2.sa.sav
whitknight28
I'm getting this as well. I first thought it was only in the snowy/ice regions but now it happens even in the suburban area's. As it doesn't corrupt the save and I can reload and play through it again - usually without another crash I see no reason to upload the save file and my dxdiag exceeds the forum limit by 21kb's. TacticalDragon
Hello, I recommend you to search the post: V22 experimental Build 2 Release, I give some instructions to disable DEP and deal memory overflow like you describe.
whitknight28
Hello,I recommend you to search the post: V22 experimental Build 2 Release, I give some instructions to disable DEP and deal memory overflow like you describe. You don't actually explain how to disable DEP in those posts..but I already know how to do it. Those that don't know - here's a link for windows 7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-Data-Execution-Prevention-settings?SignedIn=1 Now - I do totally agree with you that it has to do with a memory overflow problem...similar to running games with a lot of mods. Hopefully - it's only an issue with exp bd 22.3.

Edit - You're correct you did explain it. Anyhow this doesn't cure the problem. silencer
1. I have disabled DEP. It's the first thing I do after installing windows 2. How can I have memory overflow having 16GB of RAM 3. Disabling DEP is not a solution.
whitknight28
I moved the saved file location into the game folder...and that seemed to have worked...but It turned out to only be luck..and it ctd'd again during a terror event.
whitknight28
I had to edit this logfile to make it fit for the attachment..notes in the log file. Log3.txt Log3.txt
redmage
I'm posting another save file. This one crashes consistently when the alien uses the teleporter to get to the first floor of a landing ship. Note, I've already followed the instructions to disable DEP, so, that doesn't solve the problem. -- redmage save 2.sa.sav save 2.sa.sav
whitknight28
I get this when trying to loot ammo off of a dead comrade in an alien base. This is repeatable through the save. logfile4.txt logfile4.txt
victorix58
Did you all also install the C++ Service pack? For a crash that DEP didn't prevent, the service pack picked up the slack. Not saying TD's fix solves all crash problems, but its worth a shot.

victorix58
Not security. It is component installation. TacticalDragon
Its not only disable DEP, follow the instruction step by step. We'r professionals in this kind of issues.
silencer
I did what you said, so does whitknight (reading what he said) and still CTD on certain situations when suppressed alien tries to shoot soldiers. I'm well aware of your professionalism, but in this case I would rather a dev to say if something is wrong. Please don't feel offended. TacticalDragon
Are you running the game with Win 7 or 8 in 64bits enviroment? You need to be carefull installing the right Microsoft C++ 2005 (x86) and run as administrator. The memory overflow even if you have 16RAM is caused by some miscalculation, for example divide a number by 0, the system block any process that lead to infinite or mistake like this.
