Mercent Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) Hi all, i am wondering if the stats of the new recruits are randomized within a certain range? If it is, then i don't think the randomization is working very well... I have 4 recruits with the same stats and another 4 with the another same set of stats. I couldn't upload the picture (error 2039). Do you guys have the same issue? It would be wonderfull if Chris and his guys could truely randomize the recruits. Edit. quiescat Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 truly luck of the draw there man, there random but in a range of 40 to 60, if i recall correctly. which is pretty small in the grand scope of statistics. now if you had every single one of your troops pop up with the same stats something might be broken. Gauddlike Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 The current range is 35 to 65 although one forum member has posted that they sometimes get multiple soldiers with the same stats generated. lifehole Posted March 30, 2014 Share Posted March 30, 2014 Yeah recruit stats are randomized 35-65 as said, but considering there is multiple claims of dupes it's probably some weird rng bug, rather than you guys just getting some kind of 1 in a million dealio. Gauddlike Posted March 31, 2014 Share Posted March 31, 2014 The thing is if the same rng is used to generate the soldier stats that is used for accuracy rolls and so on it could explain why some people seem to experience strings of very unlucky rolls. Everyone who deals with RNG probably knows there is more than one way to work RNG into code, but some ways distort the RNG. Look it up. Chris Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 That's really strange, but it's definitely a bug. Are there any conditions that cause the soldier "cloning" more than others? The duplication occured early in the game but currently in the mid game, much less duplication is observed. Also, i got that huge number of duplications when i hired about 4 guys in a row in order to test out if the rng is working since i noticed that there are quite a few duplicates. Gauddlike Posted April 1, 2014 Share Posted April 1, 2014 As I said in another thread I hired almost 200 troops in groups of 2-4 to test it and got no duplicates at all.
