KateMicucci
It seems that: 1. Soldiers who receive HP increases are marked as injured, even if they took no injuries during the battle 2. A soldier who is not killed in one shot will receive an HP increase, which will cause the soldier to be marked as wounded instead of dead. Gilryn
I was wondering how all of my soldiers on B team lost 1% health on a mission where the aliens did not even fire lol. Now I know!
StellarRat
Obviously the program says someone is injured if their ending HP doesn't match the starting HP. Since your guys got "promoted" the program is reporting they are injured.
AgentFransis
2) That's not how it works. You gain an HP every 5 skill ups you get in any other skills. A soldier who is killed in a mission has a chance of surviving that decreases the lower below zero his hp got.
Skitso
If a soldier is killed but is revived and also gains HP in the same mission the end brienfing he/she has 1% HP left but wounded only 1 day.
AgentFransis
That wounded 1 day thing is just a debriefing screen bug. If you check on him later in the soldiers screen you see he is injured for the regular 17 days or so.

Yeh I can second this, said 2 of my guys (who would of otherwise been dead) were wounded for a day but inside the base it corrected it to 17 days.
